like Butters does to Paris Hilton in that episode of South Park.
what a lovely lady.
are you sure that's not noel fielding?
the jawline is pretty similar
but you'd still fuck him, wouldn't ya
I can see a reasonably attractive woman with her hands covering her face led on a bed but surely this isn't the picture everyone else in the thread is salivating over?
oh Francoise, j'adore...
you're the best poster ever
put some bloody clothes on.
they prevent her from expressing herself fully as both an ARTIST and a WOMAN.
still would, like. First pic, woop
Who is she? Is that a stupid question?
Chan Marshall AKA Cat Power.
where she was wearing a really really really short skirt and the camera was placed on the ground. Four words: knickers and bare thighs. I collapsed in the newsagents.
can't find any at the mo online and i'm just headin out the door for a pint. i'll look later and post here or pm ye if i find any.
her being a recovering alcoholic as a plus on the sexy scale.
Her voice is distilled sexiness.
It's in english and all breathy and sexy. It will blow your head off.
Do it for me.
worst photoshoot ever
or talented. BUT LOOK AT ME I HAVE A VAGINA AND QUITE NICE THIGHS
bigger bulge than boobs :S
I think, for any man, ogling over astonishingly attractive women is a fine and noble thing to do (vice-versa for girls and attractive men), but I think someone like Natasha Khan is a reasonably pretty girl but someone who, if she weren't a musician, is someone you'd see in a club and think is pretty cute but not someone you'd rave over the looks of.
But because she's a female musician who doesn't look like the back end of a bus it becomes mandatory to think of her a sex symbol and assess her on her looks and lust after her in a way that, were she not a musician, wouldn't happen.
I think it's a natural and understanable thing that, in any walk of life, very attractive people will be judged on their looks and think that's something you just have to accept but I just don't think Natasha Khan would be assessed on her looks if she wasn't a musician.
being a rock star / musician is an automatic plus 2 regardless of gender. just look at some of the blokes in bands that women have been slinging themselves at for the last 60 odd years.
so don't go hating on men. YOU GAY.
I was agree with you. It was directed at theguy.
And certainly, from the photos, she's quite happy to be judged in that manner.
WORD FOR WORD.
Justice, where are you?
Now...if I ask for boobs have you got any little bird pictures you can chuck up to fulfill my boob wanting needs?
but poor old Goebips has no nips at all.
she looks a bit like Carlos Tevez
To be brutally honest.
and sounds like fun but her music is so dull it hurts.
with a womans wig on and a sock down his pants. I'd still hit dat
as I thinks been mentioned up top in the thread, I'm so conflicted.
but I really don't give a fuck what any of you write back.
I appreciate that some of these replies might be tongue in cheek, but there is no excuse for the sheer amount of disgusting, sticky trousered, undersexed, lecherous, perving revolting misogyny in this thread. For all the time you lot invest in listening to alternative, forward-thinking music that shies away from popular modes of musical thought, the majority of the views expressed here are Victorian. Yeah, I understand that BFL, Cat Power etc have let themselves be photographed like this, and obviously, despite the artistic merit of these photos, I'm sure they’re QUITE aware that they’re destined to become the fodder of some pubescent yearnings, but still, fucking grow up and learn some respect. There’s a difference between admiring a woman’s (or a man’s) looks tastefully, and making degrading comments that make Beavis and Butthead look like smooth talkers. This isn't a new argument, but you wouldn’t do it to a friend, a woman on the street or the beach, so what makes it ok to do it on the internet? Because you can cower behind your usernames, feeling superior and smirking because you know the other person can’t/won’t fight back?
Good luck if any of you ever manage to come within five foot of a real woman…
some people do...
why I don't want to have friends...
And given my second point, that most people here consider themselves musically ahead of the game, I'd imagine that's not the category of person they'd want to find themselves lumped into.
Run along now. Man talk.
they said it from Medieval times...
But she is a strikingly attractive woman. No denying it.
She's probably reading this thread right now, loving the attention. Almost certainly, I'd say.
You're not saying much for mankind if you're insinuating that men don't have any self-control when it comes to resisting a lady's wares...
But I don't understand why people to be unnecessarily gross about it...
"She looks like a 12 year old Indian boy with a womans wig on and a sock down his pants. I'd still hit dat"
Yep, everyhting in that thread is so delicate...
"You can see a tampon string as well"
"she really doesnt look like she has a vagina in that first pic bigger bulge than boobs"
I'm not personnally offended but saying there's nothing gross on the thread ?
By far the grossest reply
"the same can be said of a picture of Johnny Depp
but you'd still fuck him, wouldn't ya"
BLATANT JOKE BTW WOWEE COWEE
by far the nicest reply to come out of this thread has been Bamnan's "I could fall in love with a girl for her arms" comment. Awww....
Just wanted to see if anyone would look for the string and say "no you cant!!!!!1!".
apart from the 'SHE HAS NO BOOBS' posts, they're mainly just 'she's a bit cute' rather than lechery.
stop reading what you want to read
wishpig you're being a proper retard.
which it is. that doesn't mean he's justifying anything illegal or dastardly. the photographer and khan herself obviously took THAT type of photo with the intention of it being quite sexual. for people on here to then say in a quite light-hearted way that it affects them sexually is fair game then, no? there's no point raising some 'slippery slope' argument. Although i take your point, i don't think it's particularly relevant.
"*sigh* what a lovely lady", "she is gorgeous" "she's adorable", "she has lovely arms"... you can hardly have a problem with those indie boy compliments? The rest are all (i guess quite rude and insulting) comments about her lack of breasts and a couple of other blatantly tongue in cheek remarks. So wishpig, while I admire your stance against the objectification of women, it just isn't justified in this thread.
it's the liberty and semi-anonymity that the internet gives them, and so this kind of 'shock culture' has sprung up, when in reality, i can say with almost certainty that everyone in this thread probably treats others with the utmost respect and courtesy in real life. of course, there's an argument to be had about whether there should be any difference in etiquette between a messageboard and real life, but that's for another day.
I don't think KiK was alluding to rape..
but the "whe was deliberately provocative, so deserving of..." is often used as an excuse by rapists...
So not only you insult people very fast but you can't read either.
Doesn't change the fact that your "argument" was inappropriate and highly reminiscent of what rapists do to justify themselves...
It probably does to over-hormoned teens but any picture of a girl would do that...
Does it justify provocative remarks and people trying to justify provocative remarks in this way ? I don't think so.
It's bordering on absurdity
1. I didn't accuse you of anything, re-read what I said. Just tried to explain why thephotobooth said something and why it could be seen as relevant.
2. There's a difference between what you say now ("surely can't be seen as that out of order") and what you said the first time ("deserve").
3. Maybe you should know there's more to discussion than insulting or bullying. Your original sentence was a bit extreme in its phrasing. People have the right not to agree with you and finding it inappropriate.
but let try to make things clear.
I wasn't the one starting the argument about rape, just trying to explain where it came from : a sentence a bit tactless from kik (the fact that it started with "to expand on that...the daft bint's lay there with her quim half hanging out" even if probably supposedly funny didn't help).
Never said he was talking like a rapist !
with "glibly assertive aggro merchants". Not all of us floppy hand-wringers are so quick to kick off...
Good luck if you ever come within 5 foot of a real man...
nice chips, by the way. really go well with your shoulders.
current stage: post-wank self loathing.
Shit is getting real shuffles
I'm disappointed that the phrases "a little bit rapey" and "IT'S POLITICAL CORRECTNESS GONE MAD" haven't cropped up yet. well, now they have.
I can't believe rape was brought up. I can't believe there were "moral issues" that concerned talking about this picture in a sexual way. I can't believe people sometimes.
that is all
That's the kind of thing a rapist would say
you're a sexist CUNT because you used twitter from your phone
but it's alright as you can't/won't fight back
Thing is, I don't understand that picture. Our image of Natasha Khan is supposed to be some sort of moonlit woodland 'other presence', right? With her facepaint and her predilection for headwear and her mystical mythical themes and all that arm waving she does, and here she is sending out an official photo of her lying on a bed in her pants, and not even provocatively or in a post-ironic self-aware form like the Daniel single cover (which features her coquettishly looking over her shoulder at us facing out towards the Brighton sea with a bare back, but painted on her back is the image of Ralph Macchio). Even if it was pretend candid you wouldn't take a photo in that position. Natasha's not going to do Loaded or enact a Christina Aguilera-style makeover given she thinks putting on a blonde wig is the height of hedonism, what's the message here?
these girls make me want to ride a flaming motorbike into a sharkpit so theyll pay attention to me. as opposed to miss khan who makes me feel very out of place here
and that's all i have to say about that
that's the only picture of Alison Stokke ever posted here?
Ask and you shall receive
I'd pole her vault
