temp agency question: cancelled bookings

alcxxk [Edit] [Delete] 01:49, 14 May '09

if a temp agency confirms a booking with you and then the job falls through, do they owe you anything?

surely if the client has called the agency up after the agency has confirmed it with a temp worker, and cancelled the booking with no good reason, the client must owe the agency a cancellation fee?

and surely, as the person who has been most put out by the change in situation, the temp worker should be owed a significant amount of that cancellation fee?

or is this just wishful thinking? it happened to me today with about 3 hours notice, and the agency have been like "yeah we'll let you know if anything else comes up, soz" but nothing else.

i guess it should be in my contract with the temp agency, but does anyone know how this works/should work?
