golden balls might be awful but see his old stand up material on comedy central <3 so good
couldn't get enough of him as a kid.....it was his wide-eyed, jutted neck wonder look that always killed me
My Dad and Uncle were all wrapped up in their unique absurdity. Then came Mayall and Edmonson abit later.
Sadly...in between them two was a Jim Davidson shaped junction.
Vic and Bob (aged 5 to now) > Jim Davidson (aged 7 to 10) > Rik Mayall and Ade Edmonson (aged 7 to now) > Harry Hill (aged 8 to now) > Eddie Izzard (aged 13 to now) > Ricky Gervais (aged 16 to now) > Stewart Lee (aged 18 to now)
My fave was Mr Jolly Lives Next Door. So wrong for a wee little girlie.
I loved Rik & Ade & demanded my dad find me the same giant panda bear they kicked int he head at the top of their stairs in one episode. I've still got him.
The day I cycled passed the house the Young Ones was based on was the day I felt at home in Manchester. What a nerd I am.
I adore them guys.
the young ones was my one big comedy obsession as a tot
but it wasn't really normal behaviour for a little girl. I snubbed bellet for 80s anarchy. I never had a chance with the cool kids :-(
Our cool kids played scrumping.....scrumping with the heroin tree.
I mean normal kids then.
but I've always wondered; did I like him cos I was so young and stupid or was he actually good? And would I know any different if I watched him now or would nostalgia trick me into thinking he was awesome no matter what the truth reveals itself to be?
But I find he wets the adult pallette as well.
is he alright?
And, I'm afraid to say, the doctor has only given him 2 months.
he looks like someone entering their last few weeks
he looks like he's found another lump
i thought it was just the way his trousers rucked up
What happened to him?
The old ITV shows are still really good, my mum & dad saw him in his earlier career as a folk singer.
What a show that was. They used to show cracking comedies in that sort of 8:30 on a Monday night slot (Birds of a Feather, The Peter Principle, Goodnight Sweetheart). Well I think they were all in that slot anyway.
used to love him as a kid
