Six weeks in Great Ormond Street and a hefty document in my medical records, because (as far as they know) nobody had pulled off this combination before. I was given something like 50/50 on surviving, this being when I was 4.
So I guess it gets no rarer than "one person". End of thread?
I guess that wasn't a "disease"...
This isn't a disease.
this site really is a competition to see who's the most indie, it even extends to diseases?!
and about 1 of 11 ok a UK scale
that's pretty rare
None of these are uncommon here.
We'll do twee covers of Badfinger songs and take the world by storm.
Doesn't understand what he's saying due to Residual Bumreach and some Eggz
symptoms once or twice a year
there are people here with incurable diseases..and some of them have mentioned them....but I doubt they are goign to 'compete' on this thread
I'm eating my biro right now
nom nom nom
Problem one affects 1 in 5000 people
Problem two affects 1 in 1250 people (I think)
Problem three possibly affects 1 in 20 to a degree but mine is more pronounced than most.
If my understanding of probability is correct you multiply those together to calculate a 1 in 125 million chance of someone being born with those three problems.
I'm pretty sure I'm winning the thread.
Pharangeal arch related defects?
Dont feel you have to answer
Problem 1's a gastrointestinal related thing (loosely speaking - I don't want to go into loads of details on an internet forum)
Problem 2's a form of heart condition
Problem 3 is fine motor coordination problems but I'm not sure if it has a specific name beyond that.
Duwaynes syndrome (seriously)
It's kind of a brain/eye defect. It means one of my eyes doesn't move as the part of the brain that's meant to send the message to the nerve/muscle doesn't for some reason.
That had nothing to do with the post fail though.
been watching videos of it today!!1 If you were in Glasgow you could earn big bucks for coming and sitting for exams
but I can show people my stretchy skin and they go "euuurrrggghhh" at parties.
Seriously such a great disease
Would love to have
Yeah, it's pretty alright really. Weird eyelid shape and stretchy skin = yay. Cracky joints and ouchy back = less yay.
which medical professionals apparently disagree on whether exists. that's like bendy joints and stuff. i can twist my ears twice round and bend my fingers/thumbs all the way back. AWESOME
I can bend my fingers/thumbs back and put my legs behind my head and stuff, and my hips and knees do all kinds of crazy popping in and out.
Mine is really, really mild though. You can have it to the extent where any kind of movement at all ends up with you dislocating something. Wack.
girl i knew in primary school has it and whatever else so bad basically she kept dislocating things and falling over in agony etc
she's now in a wheelchair for the rest of her natural :(
I walked into her room one day AND HER KNEE WAS BACKWARDS!
Oh, and I'm like the healthiest person ever. Literally nothing wrong with me.
that and disco fever.
my back is killing
You mother get up
Come on get down with the sickness
You fucker get up
Come on get down with the sickness
Madness is the gift, that has been given to me
We are all really, really messed up
but some years ago when i wore contact lenses the optician found an defect in my iris. It got bigger and bigger - they thought it was cancer.
anyways, it just stopped and after 2 years visiting the hospital I got the all clear.
but they've seen the condition since and refer to it as 'bidder (my surname) syndrome'
