Can't believe how quickly it spreads - must have been due to how the stand was built, with all the bitumen roofing and wooden structure etc.
Apparently Yorkshire Television keeps strict controls on the footage based on its shocking nature - it's only meant to be used for fire awareness training.
that a lot of rubbish ended up under the stands. Basically acted as kindling going up incredibly quickly itself and creating the conditions for the rest to go up much faster than it otherwise would have done.
The rubbish had fallen through the gaps in the stands over the years and essentially formed a huge bonfire.
Apparently some health and safety inspector had warned them about it and said "All it takes is a misplaced cigarette and it's a fire risk" ...which is exactly what happened.
