anyone fancy contributing some quotes or favourite moments a la the exellent Peep Show thread...?
"I didn't know you spoke Spanish?"
"What about your sister's tight snatch?"
"... No. Definitely Will's mum."
"I don't like it when he makes eye contact."
"None of us do, Neil."
Jay's dad slays:
"Jay takes after his mum in the cock department, she ain't got one either."
"You think that 'cause she's a fat bird she counts as two shags."
"You wet the bed 'til you were 10"
"I wet your mum's bed... WITH MY SPUNK"
So far tonight's episode has just made me cringe.
and end up having to watch it online.
Its alright kinda hit'n'miss but the odd bit cracks me up.
on e4 (im pretty sure i think)
Reno 911 is on at 11 after the inbetweeners.
If you have never seen it before it is worth a watch, its pretty funny.
I mgiht give that a try then cheers
but episodes 3 and 5 were very funny. "You're an OAPaedo!"
"let me guess - their pubic hair"
"no their... ... yeah their pubic hair"
its shaun of the dead
they went to serrious for most of the program, I don't care enough about the charecters for them to do that. I just want the funny bits!
I thought it was quite heartwarming for a show which has been all about the lolz and cringing before. It made me realise that I actually do care about the characters.
its always been kind of hit and miss for me anyway but this last one just didnt have enough funny bits they could have made the hart warming bits funny aswell but they didnt its a shame.
I had my fist in my mouth when Simon gave Carli the mixtape with that atrocious album art. "It says a lot of the things that I want to say but can't." I bet there were a fair few Dissers experiencing painful flashbacks at that bit.
It was a bizarre episode. Isn't that the first episode that those girls have appeared in? Why would we get emotional about a relationship that's lasted for (literally) 20 minutes?
At the end. I thought that was nice.
thats what annoyed me
I suppose it was the last one, sad young boys that never get the girls, give them a glimmer of hope and snatch it fom them.
Will shitting himself was hilarious and the rant in the bar
It's the way he keeps making an ass of himself that leads to most of the humour with him. Otherwise he's the straight guy.
instead of the girl herself.
and if I was at school still it would be absolutly hillarous.
beehive thing is that is on right now after the inbetweeners is supposed to be?
Its just shit.
Horne & Corden, Katy Brand and Little Miss Jocelyn.
can't be worse than Horne & Corden though, SURELY?!?!?!111
But I'd still say Coming Of Age trumps it.
My friend and I caught the pilot a couple of years ago, purely by chance. It was, and still is, the worst attempt at a sitcom I've ever seen - as soon as I saw Tracy Beaker (sadly not taken on for the commissioned show) play a flute with her anal wind, well, I knew I'd found the bottom of the British comedy shit tank.
i think i failed it
''The Lion, The Witch and the speccy kid who shat himself''
It showed how close a group of friends they are, maybe that's not important to the casual viewer but I apprecitaed it- especially the final scene.
Jay's Dad was amazing and the jokes about Neil studying P.E were exactly the same ones made at my school. The Vladimir Putin joke at the end was really great too, a good way of showing the difference between Will and the others.
If 2 series= 1 school year that means there is a maximum of 12 eps left. :( Unless they go to Uni....
After about four series most British comedies which have only two people writing them tend to go massively downhill.
but I'm greedy.
I like his use of 'piece' to refer to girls and women.
Twenty-two episodes in total is good though. I think any more than that and it'd be stretching it out a bit. Hopefully they do make more though, and they don't it on just twelve episodes...
plays the same character in everything he's in
*I'm basing this on 2 shows.
''It aint my fault you let some useless tosser pump his beans up you muff,''
Exactly the same character as the one in The Office. EXACTLY.
the first four from this series were incredible. Always liked how the mercilessly rip each other, kind of think it would have been better if they had carried on like that after the dumpings rather than being nice
what's stopping us?!
it made you realise you like the characters and generally care about them, more than just enjoying them say the word 'clunge' or 'twat'.
fucking hate carly though, what a bitch. and why are boys that the girls they fancy end up being with always utter mongs?
of most people's experience of school. The popular/attractive girls always go out with utter mongs and are always bitches. Doesn't feel that different at uni either tbh.
neil and simon having nothing to talk about when alone made me smile. that often happens in a group of school friends.
seeing how they really are friends and the viewer really does care about them, they're not just faces who making embarrassing sex jokes.
some of the other episodes were a bit too outlandish but this one scaled it right back to the friends and the horrors of being at school.
still had its moments though.
"How much lego can you stick up your bum?"
But this was brilliant as a series. It developed. The first built the characters' profiles so we knew a bit about them. This one explored them a bit deeper and that's why it was so intriguing that Jay actually got a babe.
Great episode though. Really unmissable TV. Best bit:
"Wow, a ghost story? Like Harry Potter or The Bible?"
