Remember that Red Dwarf episode where the robot travels through time and if people can't justify themselves it removes them from existence and an alternative person takes their place, a different combination of sperm and egg that may prove more worthy?

Sometimes I feel this should happen with bands. Oasis would get judged and be found unworthy because they failed to progress at all so they'd be replaced by another band who might use their time in the spotlight for better effect.
