Bit of a longshot, but here goes:

It was about a group of kids who got addicted to a video game and because they played it far too often, they began to see shapes and demons from it in the corner of their eyes and the game started to bleed out into the real world. Anyone heard of it or read something like this? I can't for the life of me remember the name of it or the person who wrote it, but I remember the shape of the creatures being black and spiky.
