You can get a nice-ish 1 bed flat there for liek £150 a week.
bit far out isn't it? will you mind two hour journeys home after the tubes close?
like to read books on buses.
I wonder where the bus to Walthamstow terminates.
Take an hour max, more like 40 mins at 2 in the morning.
it is a very boring place. I know, I used to live there as well.
wanstead's no more boring than walthamstow
plus it's much prettier
although we only have a somerfield, no supermarkets, and somerfield is full of shit
which part of wanstead d'you used to live in?
The Standard plays decent live music, the Castle pub in the village has live bands and comedy nights as well as night where you can play boardgames. Wanstead has the Cuckfields and Britsh Queen. Two pubs full of twats. I like the George, because it is cheap.
I used to live near Wanstead High school and down Hermon Hill.
though yeah, it does have its fair share of bellends....but the george is a wetherspoons, friday/saturday nights are always....interesting (still a few steps up from russells/bar room bar though).
well, i like living in wanstead anyway. tbh it's always a case of go-to-the-centre-or-east-or-somewhere-fun for the big fun stuff if you're living any distance away from the centres in london
So shit it's known as "Langstead" to the powerful people at Google
The only benefit to Langstead is it's a bit quicker to central London or the East end
The Standard plays decent live music = bare-faced lie.
They had a wonderful tribute band called The Jamms the other month. Bloody excellent. So there!
Ah, but on the other hand, the last band I saw there were a "glitterpunk" combo named 'Toxic Bitch'. They were exactly as good as that sounds. So double there.
The bar man was a prick
it barely feels like it's part of London. Also they have a pub with a theatre in the back.
That was the only reason I ever went there - seemed ok
It has its nice bits (the village, Llyods park) and its not so nice bits - just like any part of London really. It is a safe area, even though the local rags make it sound like a bad day in Baghdad.
and the victoria line is broken half the time so it can be a bitch to get to. Still it's an alright place, I think I'm barred from the Goose pub there.
Also Waltham Forest Town Hall is the most over the top town hall ever, it's like it's been lifted from 1930's Germany!
...get the train from Liverpool Street - journey time 17 minutes!
Nice place to live, but you wouldn't want to visit.
then I say go for it.
I used to live in Tottenham Hale and that had a greater scare factor than Walthamstow (I used to work there).
