say, like, 2 hours less...so much to do and so little time
i'm currently on about 6 a night (recently became a father and so am up all hours)... i don't think I'd want to go for much less than that...
with no real noticeable effects. Though my eye kept twitching yesterday. Oh wellz.
in reality it means I only sleep about 5.5 hours per night (what with waking up in the night and stuff like that). So the odd day to catch up a bit is essential. I wasn't able to this weekend and I'm pretty tired today </selfpity>
i watched something about avoiding sleep a few weeks ago... there are some pills you can take that keep you alert and awake to the extent that you can survive on 20 minute power naps. they aren't buzzy like speed and you can drop off at any time if you want to. they look pretty amazing; the US airforce uses them to help pilots stay awake on really long flights. one of the guys the documentary was about worked about 20 hours a day, 7 days a week... called Modafynil i think.
did a massive google search when i first heard of it but am a bit scared re paying out huge amounts for fake pills.
haribo: i don't really think you should try, it will totally depress you. i did it for four years, getting up after about five hours sleep, just in order to do stuff before work. it gave me restless leg at work, i was constantly sneezing, felt like death when i was actually at work...the few active hours before work that i'd gained weren't particularly enjoyable because of tiredness/general moodiness/unsociability
It's been driving me crazy today.
I decided to cut down my sleep with the idea that it'd allow me to watch more films/listen to more music between 12am-2am. But, in reality, I just waste that time on the internet, read for 20mins and then go to sleep. Need to be more disciplined.
I might just quit my job instead.
generally function fine, but after about 2 pints on a friday night i just want to go and lie down.. although this is usually after a flight as well, which i don't think helps :(
