even Dimbley was slapping him down
Storm in a teapcup really.
When his appearance fees dip below a certain level he pulls something like this, ignore the twat.
anywhere that seeks to define itself has underlying insecurities
the Church reasserts itself whenever it looses influence (the Council of Trent after the Reformation, or Papal Infallibility after Secularisation and Darwin)
or Germany after it lost WWI
i was most annoyed at his comments about Burns though. He's probably never read any. Whilst i'm not Burns' biggest fan I'd hesitate to describe him as a "provincial bore" or whatever it was he said. Besides, scotlands literary performance in the 20th century has outshone England's so if an attack on Burns was an attack on the literary tradition then... Fuck you, david starkey. Wanker. He was trying to be glib but came across as a wanker. Wanker.
an independent scottish nation has a lot of potential
but we need to free ourselves of the artificial romantic identity that the victorian english patronised us with, which pictures us as inherently irrational and backward
And of course the Scot's didn't make an outside ampitheatre to the exact same specifications used by a certain bard.
Can't we just say Ireland bested us both?
so any call to a 'natural' identity is a complete falsehood
he pushed infront of my uncle when he was buying food on a train and when my uncle was like whut da fuck, starky pulled out the old DONT YOU KNOW WHO I AM??
It would have been really funny.
As an Englishman, I don't think that we hear enough about him.
I disagree with him for being anti-patriotic, but with regards to the 'offensive' comments from, surprise-surprise, a fucking Labour MP are worse.
