I cannot stop laughing about this.
In The Loop is one of the funniest and sweariest films I've seen for a long time.
amazing how apt the shark/pornography line is, too
I bet Ianucci was weeping with joy when that story came out.
I love Jamie, he steals the film.
I like how everyone can kind of pretend they like it because of political satire, but actually everyone just loves the swearing and the slapstick.
"Shut it Love Actually, or I'll holepunch your face"
I found bits of it really funny which I might not have otherwise I thought. It's the knowledge that stuff like that does actually happen, behind closed doors, I think.
Oh to be a fly on the wall in conservative hq tonight following bumbling Boris' putting a dent in Cameron's election campaign.
when it comes down to it.
That combined with the blacking up reference which seemed all too apt following McBridegate
I'd forgotten that bit.
"well I WOULD black-up because no-one would be able to see my face"
but i know that's what happened
i was in tears more than once
if i had the time i'd go see it at least once more this weekend
"Right, you, white stripes, out.... there's TWO people in the white stripes"
i might even try and catch it again sometime.
is one of the most superb insults i have ever, ever heard.
i have the day off tomorrow and i now know what i'm going to do with it. i'm going to sit in the cinema and watch in the loop again. and possibly again.
Ambassador, with your pink baldy head you're spoiling us.
also she's in 30 Rock :D
made from actual kids.
chad was amazing
and the other guy
"Ok, uhmmm, first point, i do take offence, thank you. vis-a-vie your second point: it's actually my birthday in 9 days so if you wanna wait around till then"
Armando Iannucci deserves a knithood.
"I'm gonna shove cotton wool so far down your throat it comes out your arse and makes you look like a fucking playboy bunny."
"Oi, Love Actually- shut it"
"I think Malcolm created him from old bits of psycopath"
"I suppose I should be glad you didn't take your cock out and start playing wee willie banjo to her".
and probably the funniest use of swearing ever out to film... actually immense.
'If you look through the clothes carousel...'
i'm expecting amazing things
Bit in the meditation room F star star Kunt had me in tears.
difficult difficult lemon difficult.
"I don't like glass walls, they're for perverts" :D
I thought it was - whisper it softly - not all that good
you lot must be easily amused. Swearing gets a bit tiresome after a while.
Malcolm - is he meant to be hilarious, really? Do people really find excessive swearing THAT hilarious? Do people not go out enough or something?
but about halfway through I suddenly realised it wasn't going to happen.
I didn't think it was a bad film - far from it - but I can't escape the feeling that it's one of those projects that has benefited from patriotic boosterism
have you seen The Thick of It? If so, what did you think of that?
Does that make a difference?
but I think a lot of people in this topic were big fans of that so were used to the characters and their traits. The sense of humour of the show takes some people a bit of getting used to.
I did notice, however, that there was really no humour at all in the situation and that we'd essentially come to the point where we were laughing our heads off at line after line of intelligent swearing.
The Thick of It always was the culmination of Blackadder and Yes Minister but this took it to an amazing extreme. If you made a film totally of Blackadder's sarcastic put downs 18-rated then it would seem a bit like this, I guess.
It really wasn't that witty.
I love it but the majority of funny lines come down to him being insulted from on high or insulting those around him.
others like to spend £175 to see a movie. Don't be so judgemental.
Should have gone earlier to be fair.
but I think The Thick Of It is better.
The thick of it series 1 was maybe the best TV series of all time, and this was pretty average in comparison. The reason that The Thick of it is so good is because of the subtlety of the humour and this was really over the top.
