I wasn't expecting that.
I can't get enough of the place.
i love this city
Tuesday afternoon morning we spent just wondering around the city center going to lots of pubs (i think my father has a problem), then in the afternoon we went to Whitly bay then came back to the city via Wallsend and Roman fort there. Then in the evening we did went to all of the pubs by the Ouseburn (free trade, cumberland arms etc) and had a wonder down the quayside and stuff. This morning we walked around Leazes park and Spital Tongues and visited the university in the afternoon.
I had a thoroughly enjoyable time.
You've seen most of the best bits. Including Wallsend, but only for the Romans (I'm from Wallsend originally, other than it's cultural relevance, it's a horrible place!)
but it's next to Castle Leazes, I suppose.
Did you get to Jesmond Dene at all? That's rather lovely on a sunny day.
the people are really nice. i have yet to meet a geordie i haven't liked.
High-five for the Geordgies!
Am I banished to Middlesbrough now?
be so lucky.
I should really check it out, I always thought it was a bit of a dump and a lot of trouble (only from what I've heard!). I s'pose people say the same about Manchester, but I love this city and its no such thing. I shall pay a visit!
Glad you had fun!
Where is that anti-geordite bastard?
I'll lay the smackdown on him...
making unsolicited and unprovoked (and no doubt empty) threats of violence? I REFUSE TO BELIEVE IT
It was so sweet!
Who should I piss off?
and it really does have a lot going for it. But moving back home after university for a few months I grew to resent it a bit because I was so bored there and didn't have many friends around. Now that I'm not living there any more I can appreciate it more again, from a distance :D
