Completism and buying stuff you don't actually like that much

DanielKelly [Edit] [Delete] 12:19, 21 April '09

I can't help it, I have a burning desire to own complete sets of stuff, even when I don't like some of the individual parts of the set. Yesterday I half-drunkenly stumbled into HMV and disgraced myself by handing over good money for 'Diary of the Dead' on DVD. I didn't enjoy that film in the slightest. But I had the previous four and there was a yearning hole in my DVD collection that kept calling out to me. Now that I have all of them I can finally be at peace, even if my DVD collection just got one iota (actually, probably several) worse.

Anyone else driven by this nonsensicasl motivation to own complete sets of stuff? DEATH TO CAPITALISM!
