how do you make something .rtf?
Save as > Save as file type > Rich text format
will it retain .rtf?
it don't make them biscuits
No, I don't think you can
this assignment needs to be rtf but it also needs to be done in wordpad
But Wordpad saves as .rtf (Rich Text Format) by default.
Word can save as an .rtf by doing "File">"Save as...". Note that .rtf will not support anything more than just the most basic of formatting. So if you save a file as .rtf from Word, then open it up again to see what it ends up like before sending it to anyone.
Notepad strips all formatting and can only save as a .txt "plain text" file.
What you need to do in Windows Explorer (or My Computer) is go to the "Tools Menu", choose "Folder Options", select the "View" tab, scroll down and uncheck the "Hide extensions for known file types" box. Now your files will show up as xxxxxxx.*** (where .*** is your filetype extension and you'll be able to see what the type a file is).
Is that any use to you?
but i can find 'save as' but can't find 'save as file type'
