The fan might be malfunctioning.
if it's an old desktop it could just be a thick layer of dust that's making it overheat. Mine is like a vacuum.
if its a laptop make sure your not keeping the bottom of it on a surface which smothers it not allowing air, putting it on the bed for example is sure to make it turn it's self off. Desktops tend to get dusty, remove the case and just blow away/carefully vaccum away some dust.
If you're using windows, right click on my computer, properties, advanced system settings, under the advanced tab click "settings" for startup and recovery and uncheck "automatically restart". If it's turning itself off or restarting for no apparent reason, then this will show you an actual error message instead in quite a few cases.
i took the side off and it was thick of dust so vacummed it and it seems to be fine now and i can hear the fan working again.
i'm back in play!
