My brother reckons films look TOO good now, they're all so polished. I don't like the lighting on a lot of 80's films, and a lot of 70's films look a bit grimy.
Of course, there are some films which have better cinematography than ones appearing 50 years later, so you can't really generalise.
today's films look like shit compared to all that wonderfully fuzzy/gritty/grimey look that 70s movies had
I guess it kinda works for those sort of films.
It's almost as if the film stock itself has personality.
It's like listening to a note-perfect, polished piece of music compared to a scuzzy track in which the singer sounds human.
It's just that in the past even the biggest blockbusters had that film-stock feel, whereas these days blockbusters are polished to a ridiculous degree.
That said everything will look dated and more 'real' in another decade's time, just you wait.
will report back
like I cant imagine them being actors or there being cameramen there
look and feel better with like this
best effects ever
they look like computer games to me. 28 Days Later - I've seen it thrice, and each time the whole film looked like a computer game.
