that makes me cool right?
that's awesome. my brother got me two space precinct dvds for christmas.
me too. apparently.
ive never met her or anything like. but apparently i am.
but my grandparents are always on about how she's such and such cousin of her's granddaughter or summat.
what would that make us?
Its my dads cousins daughter (i think) her granny is something to my dad. Dolly?
My dads family were originally from where she is from. <--- this shows you how much i know. ha!
from now on i'm calling you cuz' :)
i think somewhere somehow they were up north, and i think my grandma's cousin moved down south somewhere or summat, and then had babies, and then had baby. i really know about as much as you though, and the whole thing could well just be senile imaginings (though probably not, if there's one thing my grandma knows about, it's olde time family happenings). would be interesting to find out for sure one day.
Yeah i think its for definate, My granny still speaks to her granny. or did (i havent spoke to my granny in about 6 years so im not sure) and as far as i can remember she used to chat on the phone loads to them and has been over a few times.
wouldnt mind finding out for definate too. its those sisters, cousins, mother of a son conversations really confuse me.
but my grandma's maiden name = bunton, which is why i think it has some credibility. she's probably too old to be impressed enough by celebrity to make that kinda thing up to show off...
Im related through Greer someway.
Im going to find out this weekend
i'm going to lord it over you forever :)
wouldnt go as far as to say mates tho

And yogy biamahonica or something like that. these are no claims to fame but very funny funny memories of a very very cheesy rave my ex played at. (he didnt play the cheese)
Met quite a few knobs on my seshy days too. Its not nice meeting someone and them turning out to be a plonker.
I'm one of the smart ones beleive it or not.
i just see a lot of pupils (and teachers!!) writing "should of", "could of" etc, and i'm a pedantic cunt.
Unless im doing a formal document, then im quite a stickler myself.
I read your first comment in a big grumpy teachers voice. :P
mainly 60s musicians in the family and friends of the family but I am also friends with quite a few recent artists.
But I prefer the less successful connections....like that chap, Yosser Hughes, he used to come to our house and read me bedtime stories. Gis a story
and it was really Peter Kerrigan that we knew but he just tagged along sometimes (and he'd bring his granddaughter over who at the time was playing Tracy Corkhill in Brookie which excited me much more than knowing Brian Eno. I wish I had more sense as a child)
One of their best friends when we lived in America was a guy who went on to become Head of Marketing or something for Disney, he's on the board of directors and everything, so my parents would go to all these glamorous dinner parties in the San Francisco hills in massive mansions. Apparently, they were on speaking terms with Quentin Tarantino (who my mum doesn't like, because his films are horrible and violent, but she never let on).
My second cousin was a regular character in Holby City up until a couple of years ago, died in a car crash apparently. Never watched it myself.
The other week he went downstairs in his boxers, shouting at his mum for not having his dinner ready, walked into the living room and King Kenny was sat having a cup of tea with his folks.
Me and some friends were having this conversation one night in a bar, and Robert (from Tennessee) was all, "well, I don't know, I mean, have you guys heard of June Carter? And Johnny Cash?"
After a general round of people spluttering, "you knew JOHNNY CASH!??" he was all, "er, yeah, well, I mean, I'm from Kingsport, which is where the Carter family's from, and my family and I go round there all the time. Had dinner at Johnny's a few dozen times before he passed on."
By this point we were all like WTFOMG?!?! but he was just sitting there looking uncomfortable, because as far as he was concered Johnny Cash was just this old dude he knew who was almost the next Elvis back in the 50s and never quite made it. He genuinely had no idea how internationally revered Cash is.
The rest of the night people overheard us shouting, drunkenly, YOU FUCKING KNEW JOHNNY CASH MAN! and then people would come over to him and buy him drinks and shake his hand. Bless him, he was just a small town kind of guy, he had no idea what was going on.
if i wanted to be a cock about it all.
Kelly Osborne is actually MY daughter not sharons.
actually another one. Lewis Osborne
Genuinely fantastic story.
He was outside the US for the first time in his life (this was a bar in Cape Town) and he ended up at the end of the night in a high-back chair next to the fireplace, staring into the middle distance, and asking us, "is it normal to feel like I'm falling even if I'm not?"
I fucking loved that guy.
Were you in The Saddest Bar In The Universe?
They were massively pissed and a fair few were unconscious. It was perfectly rational at the time.
But that's about it.
the one who had OCD and went out with that snooty rich girl who turned out to be a chav. I seem to remember a lot about him besides the name.
but this is a late contender to the crown. Well played sir.

my mother knows loads of politicians as she worked for the government a few years back, i've been on a sailboat on the nile drinking beer with the former prime minister of norway, but of course no one here knows who that is
Never met the man, but he is apparently like my 4th cousin ( My grandmothers, great great nephew) so yeah whatever that is.
My dad's best friend was the nephew of Alan Ball.
was a prominent figure in Oswald Moseley's British Fascist Party. My other great-grandad was the mayor of Auxpetia in Spain for like a week, something to do with emergency measures during the Civil War. Apparently he was a well-known jack-of-all-trades around the town and if you go into a couple of the bars and mention you're a Segurola people will buy you a drink. Guess which great-grandad I prefer.
the fascists or the anarchists? if it's the fascists then you're developing a bit of a streak in your family!
But my Mum voted NF when she was 18 (that's the fascist side), and her Mum said Moseley was 'actually quite a nice man'. My Dad's side, the Basques, are really anti-fascist. I think that's why I'm just a jolly nice lad with no particular political leaning.
'David, you're looking terribly fascist today' and I will blush.

my great grandad invented a predecessor of the sliding door which is on the side of pretty much every van in the world. sadly he sold the idea to a local business man for a relatively small amount (tho at the time the amount may have been big, maybe £100)
if he'd kept the idea and made it into a business himself i'd be fucking loaded...
and CIC British forces in India & Pakistan up to 1947.
My great great uncle Robert Spence Watson was a leading Newcastle solicitor, proponent of arbitration in labour disputes, and national secretary of the Liberal Party. With others he founded Armstrong College now Newcastle University.

the leader of the church i used to go to as a kid went to school with david bowie. and the guy who was best man at my wedding was nearly engaged to the heiress of the rank corporation (as in the film company / rank hovis).
i was on telly a few weeks ago, but that doesn't really make me famous.

the horrorscope guy
Nestor's probably the most well-known one though.
...a pretty big wheel down at the cracker factory.
does the radio 4 show Gardeners Question Time every now and then. I answered our front door to Alan Tichmarsh when I was a kid, and I was only wearing boxers. He looked uncomfortable, but I simply shouted my dad. Looking back at it Alan probably thinks that I was getting bummed by my Dad, I wasn't though.

his field is just a particular protein?
anyway, people who work for him say it's funny at conferences because he's treated like some sort of science rock star. apparently once they were all staying at a hotel for a conference and they went to a pub, but my dad stayed behind, and when they came back he was in a jacuzzi with a bunch of hot swedish female phd students, who were hanging on his every word.
