Because I went to the cinema and they treat you like a cunt, so I thought maybe only cunts go?
Popcorn is £5 at my local one. They must think I was born yesterday.
"Excuse me, I bought some popcorn and a drink and now I have no money?"
usually the most interaction I have is saying the name of the film and thank you.
to a smelly dingy poo hole with sticky floors. And then the popcorn cost another £5000 and only came in 'fat bastard' size and then the seats and the staff and the shitty adverts for orange and trailers for films that I can't believe are actually being made and then the film I went to see wasn't very good.
I dunno, I remember as a kid I used to love going to the cinema, but it's (mainly) shit.
The most convenient cinema should never cost £9. Also £5000 for popcorn? I'm in the wrong business!
I went to see The Damned United at the Odeon in Camden.
We saw Watchmen in Screen 5. It felt like they must use it for porn movies the rest of the time...
the Taking of Pelham 123 with JOHN FUCKING TRAVOLTA INSTEAD OF ROBERT SHAW. And there's another fucking Da Vinci Code film coming out. And some other shit. I'm never going to the cinema again.
I've read that book and it's a fuck load better written than The Da Vinci Code. However, that just means it's really bad rather than unutterably bad.
It'll probably make a better movie, though.
Stewart Lee <3
Odeon Camden Town's trailers seem to last about 3 hours.
Why I don't go, innit?
'Fat cunt' seats more like.
but stained sort of orange and mouldy?
I've no idea. The Showroom is full of cunts by the way.
I don't plan on going again.
(I'm visiting Sheffield weekend after next. Interesting stuff.)
Kenny G's final single
i used to love the Wallaw in Blyth because it was all old and atmospheric and there were only ever like 2 people in there, and you were on this huge balcony, and you could smoke.
then it inevitably closed and got knocked down. real shame :(
in london, you want to go for one of the independents or the Curzon chain, or probably just download/wait for the DVD. going to the cinema will not enhance your experience of it at all, not worth it.
In the loop. I wanted to go see it Friday. Bastards.
The worst thing about Cinemas is that it's gone from arseholes leaving their phones on to arseholes actually answering the fucking things mid film.
i take my own food in, i sit right in the front so no one is in my way and i go early in the day - i'm a student!!! etc.
i pay like 15 quid a month and i get to see as many films as i want at cineworld, of which there is one near me in hammersmith which never seems to get more than 10 people in any screening.
