Now he's starting on Camera Obscura: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=165115685569&ref=share
Morley knew what he was doing all along.
about 200million people use it...
plus it's boring and they are only so many night out photo's one person can see...
but why am I seeing Paul Morely's name a lot today? Isn't he just some silly-faced prick who pops up, pretending to remember stuff, on those shitty list shows?
That PW piece wasn't much cop, but Morley's written some good stuff, and as regards his I Love The 80s appearances or whatever he would actually have been a creative force at the time (being in the Art of Noise/working as a journo/coming up with the Frankie Say Relax t-shirt). Unfortunately, a man is often judged by the company he keeps, and in the case of I Love The 80s that company includes Jamie Theakston, Kate Thornton and Gina Yashere.
Wrote an article on Patrick Wolf. He.
Said the word He.
A lot. He.
It got put up on the site. Then taken down. Then put up on the site. Then taken down. He.
It. He. Went on for about eightHeen pages. It. He. Was pretty much unrHeadable. He.
Some people made comments underneHeath it. Patrick Wolf ('He.') got annoyed. It was taken down. It's quite literally the greatest/worst thing ever written.
Other than that though, you're right, he's a daft 'appeth without a) the ability to say 'No' to a programme/journalistic commission and b) the ability to not mention the fact he was at THAT Sex Pistols Free Trade Hall gig, and that he knew THAT Morrissey back in the day. Basically, he's Everett True meets Horne & Corden. HE KNEW SOMEONE FAMOUS, DON'T YOU KNOW and you can't get him off your telly.
