Is anyone else getting mighty peeved by it?
to make me hate the band
fucking me off too. it just depends how you use the site / how much you wave your mouse near it.
say, theoretically, that i wanted to turn off adblocker only for DiS. Is that possible from the preferences or anything? Can't seem to work it out myself
Because it's not DiS that forced me to install it, it's the numerous other less reputable sites with pop ups, flashy/noisy things etc. I actually quite enjoy the "Find Your Islamic Bride" frippery
and then add drownedinsound.com and make sure the box is ticked.
it took me god knows how many hours to configure adblock to make it go away and I didn't want to install it in the first place.
but ads like that we get paid more for than standard ads and only do them if they're really-really relevant ads for the site. I think we may shift the top of the site around if we get approached to do any more like that, so that the ads are further away from the menu, as per music.guardian.co.uk
keep them as far away as possible from the log-in boxes too.
The Full Sail University advert - no rollover stuff.
Really really angry.
But it also makes me listen to the band.
I HATE ADVERTS!
i didn't know zero was coming out as a physical single, or when, with animal collective remix too (had some idea it existed, but thought it was only a bonus 7" with certain purchases of the full album) and, because of the ad, did go and buy it. so i'm vaguely pro-that ad, even though it's served a purpose now.
plus, i can forgive this band quite a lot.
twenty something accidental clicks and counting.
That's what most rollover ads are like, right?
Would you get paid less per click for that, sean?
What about rollover ads that you need to click for them to pop out?
