A&R letter of the day part 2

I get quite a few messages from people telling me that the songs they have written are 'perfect' for the artists we represent, quite often I'll give them a listen.

Today's was a glorious promise that they'd written AT LEAST two Christmas number ones and that they were even willing to share a writing credit on the track (usually a surefire cert that the song will be crap).

At the top of this email was this poem:
Spring has sprung, the grass is ris’
Do you know where the next Christmas radio hit is?

The additional fact that it was lyrics written over the top of Tchaikovsky meant that I HAD to listen.
