Grammar Question for you experts...it's quite tricky.

NOW

Is there a word for a verb that can only be acted on a recipient i.e can't be just used in itself.

i.e you can say "The Flower Grows" and you know 'grows' applies to the flower

but you can't say "the man slaps"...well you CAN but you'd need a subject for him to slap.

Is there a word to differentiate verbs like "sighed" "wanked" and "stank"

and verbs such as "Punched" "tickled" and "tore"
