anyway, tell us about some times you've fallen asleep on public transport and woken up too late
and on the way back on a sunday i would fall asleep, usually straight from a party in someones house.
every weekend i would wake up with a slabber face starring at someone thinking wtf!? and where am i! good times.
thats about the height of it.
I was visited my friend who goes to Brunel Univesity. On the way home, I was told to get the bus which would drop me off right outside. So I got on the bus and feeling quite tired I rested my eyes for a bit. I woke up at Heathrow Airport at about 11pm at night.
Second time was at Christmas. Had been out for the works christmas do and was feeling quite merry around Embankment way. Got on the tube there, bam - out like a light. Woke up a station after where I was supposed to get off. Got off the tube there, threw up at the station and walked myself and my unsettled stomach all the way home, clutching a bag of fried chicken.
It was the first bus of the day as I hadn't been to sleep due to the last night in a club in Glasgow before they tore it down. Anyhoo I awoke in Ayr (down the west coast) about 40 mins past where I was going for and didn't have a penny to my name. What made it worse was that I had to get back to Glasgow in time as I was going to the Old firm that day. Very kindly the bus company gave me a lift on the next bus and didn't charge me but the driver did have to wake me at my stop as I passed out again.
had an amazing story about how he went back and forth on the Northern Line for something like 6 hours. It amused me greatly.
'Cos I would do anything to make you mine
Near or far just (bring it on) to be where you are
Tell me who would have thought
I'd find love on the Northern Line (Northern Line in the house, one time)
Horrible business that.
she fell asleep on the way to brixton and woke up in tottenham hale. thats in the other direction folks.
my mate once fell asleep at liverpool st (on the train to walthamstow) on platform 1 and woke up a few hours on platform 2.
A few weeks ago I was at a party and got the bus home at about 7am. I was still fucked and went upstairs and lay down for a snooze on the back seat. I woke up, dazed and confused. There were a lot of people up the stairs and when I looked out the window I soon realised that I had gone full circle and arrived back at the bus station at approx. 9am. FML.
Piccadilly line, got on at Holborn, ended up at Sudbury Hill (11 stops too far)
Nightbus, got on at Caledonian Road intending to go to Trafalgar Square, woke up exactly where I started but an hour later
I swear I have some kind of public transport narcolepsy. Those are the most extreme examples but I quite often end up drifting in and out of sleep on tubes in the middle of the day, if I'm on my own.
the drifting in and out of sleep on tubes, that is
kipping between, say, tottenham court road and bank is fine. falling asleep after mile end and waking at hainault, not so good.
Went out after for a few beers with the cousins afterwards, and intending to get the train back to Leeds (changing at Manchester). However once boarding the train the beers put me straight to sleep. When I woke up I'd definitely passed Manchester but all I could see was fields. It was quite scary as I didn't even know what direction we were headed or how long till the next stop. I was shitting myelf I was going to end up in Glasgow or Wales (no offense Glasweigans/Welsh - it's just a long way away). When the train slowed down and was reaching a station I was feeling pretty tense - never have I been so relieved to see a sign for Sheffield.
countless number of times when I lived at home (about 20 mins past where I needed to get off) and, like Mr Kelly, woke up in Luton one Christmas.
i'm still hoping someone's going to roll in who was trying to get to old street, got the n55 and woke up in woodford. that'll be good
went from Trafalgar square to cockfosters, and then back again, and then BACK AGAIN, after a night out.
we got in at about 6am
I think I did Trafalgar Square - Edgware and back once too as I recall. It was when I first started going clubbing too and had no mobile phone, my mum was mortified. I eventually was out so late that I got a tube home.
I was aiming for Shepherd's Bush.
I also managed a while back to get on a bus at King's Cross, go back to Archway (the end of the bus route), fall asleep in a corner where the driver couldn't see me, and wake up in the bus depot in, erm, King's Cross...
once on the longest day of the year, which meant I had to spend an extra hour there.
'How much to Borehamwood'
'Fuck off! It's only round the corner'
I thought I was in Radlett.
...because it involves booze and transport. I was so drunk a few months back that my mates put me in a black cab and sent me off while they all stayed out and had fun without me. They informed the driver I lived in Walthamstow and left me £20 in my purse. I was woken up by the cab driver ages later asking me where abouts in Watford I lived. The journey cost me a fortune.
