Notting Hill Arts Clib

We're back for another of our super fun afternoon shows! This time, we're super excited to bring you...
TIM TEN YEN is the snappiest dressed man in London. Probably. What is certain is that "Everything Beautiful Reminds Me of You", released via Pointy Records, was the snappiest sun-drenched pop record made last year by a snappily-dressed man from London. SNAPPY. His live shows come assisted by The Sinister Cat, and if that doesn't pique your interest by itself, well...
INTERNET FOREVER bill themselves on their myspace as "the dangerous sounds of twee". We think they're like a Times New Viking-savvy take on what Beat Happening were so special for - a band that places youthful exuberance and a desire for maximum fun moments uber alles. We're SOLD.
POPE JOAN are a four-piece avant pop band from Brighton. Trading in angularrrrr guitar lines and 8-bit synth fury equally, debut mini-album Hot Water, Lines and Rickety Machines was last year via the fine people at OIB Records (also responsible for Lonely Ghosts, who some of you may remember from our Christmas party) and garnered a lot of lovely words from the underground press.
As usual, this goes down from 4pm to 8pm, we'll be playing SUPER SWEET TUNES between the bands, and it's TOTALLY FREE. Tell your friends!
Really solid live and they have some top notch sings.
i like the mini album and i'm looking forward to seeing them
a few of us are going to this restaurant: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/584399 to eat food at, as far as I can tell, the only Uyghur restaurant in the country. It will be lovely.
i'm off to google it.
don't, he's making my life easier!
but I'll be on my own how i will I recognize any of you?
That sounds ominous.
for me, I get to see it every day.
heartbeeps will be the one on stage
and i have glasses. totally unique, i am.
you'll definitely stand out like a sore thumb!
because i'll be in the area anyway, and would quite like to catch Internet Forever, cos i quite like them.
only none of you will know who i am*, muhuhahahaha.
*except alcxxk, lemonbrickcombo, fihiki, guntrip, bleak, all of whom will know who i am, ruining the illusion :(
and go incognito
with two eyeholes cut in it.
a couple fo these for IRL wall spamming?
Would be much appreciated!
that was cool. sorry i didn't stick around so long - definitely not feeling my best today.
internet forever - ace set. i really like that break bones song, it's stuck with me the whole way home.
guntrip - what was the song you played just before IF started?
the three before went:
distophia - joanne
liars - houseclouds (i think?)
marnie stern - whatever the first track on the new record is
the Marnie one was faded out so they could start, if that's the one you mean?
it was kind of nursery rhymey, and then changed to be heavier and all yelpy staccato like. i've never heard Ms. Stern, always assumed she was a folky type, but will investigate.
the other possibility is that i might have been confusing what you were playing with some samples played by the band.
garry, you're a gent.
we've popped a new song up on myspace, go have a listen. i like it more than break bones! :)
that was marnie stern :)
All this talk of Distophia, I gotta plug my next RoTa...
CALORIES (ex Distophia ain't it)
PULLED APART BY HORSES
Come, it'll be well worth your whiiiile.
