i used to use it a lot, and it's not the most user friendly piece of software in the world, but it gets the job done.
i'm not gonna say anything about that other software you can get on that other model of computer, but since starting to use that, i can't go back. saying that though, the only reason i have the opportunity to use it is that i can borrow laptops and equipment from work, and would otherwise probably still be using Premiere.
is particularly extensive or anything. i'm sure there are many others.
after trying premiere and ulead ones. Came across pinnacle which had good reviews but im still downloading it 1.2gb sigh.
You can get the cheapest version for about £50? And it does a LOT of shit for that.
Apart from the Lego one for 'A Beach, A Flag, A Doctrine' (which was done with Windows Movie Maker!) the rest were all cut together with Vegas and its effects.
but switching from Premiere to Final Cut Pro was a big relief - it's a much more instinctual programme to use. Premiere is fine, but can be soul destroying at times.
If you're thinking of doing video A LOT, or for work, I'd seriously consider getting a Mac so you could work with Final Cut Pro. But Premiere otherwise for a PC video programme....
