it's the eternal question.
I would have to eat my deep pan pizza alone, no-one here would share one with me :(
perhaps you could stack a couple of slices for similar effect?
If it would make you happy, I'd hate to think that my pizza preferences were causing people sadness.
i don't think i could stand to see you sadly eat away at a poor deep pan substitute.
don't worry about me, take David_R and travel to the land of the deep pan whereupon may you .ect
to be met by this! No escape!
i don't mind deep pan every now and again.
i enjoy both. although i've gotten sick the past couple times i've eaten pizza so i'm not eating it anymore. :/
Deep pan is the preserve of Phillistines and Fat Americans and Fat American Phillistines.
Always thin & crispy!
deep pan just makes you get really really full of bread and if you burn it then the edges are a bitch cos it's just massive crunchy burnt bread, if you burn the edges of a thin and crispy pizza it's just a crunchy bit on the edge without causing any problems
as you can gobble so much more of it. Mmmm
I quite like both of them.
It's the proper, Italian way.
not soggy bullshit.
But sometimes lately I've had a lot of pizzas that are just TOO thin and TOO crispy.
If it's Pizza Hut or Domino's or something, it has to be deep pan, but that's not to say I don't like Pizza Express and the like either, because I do. Why can't we all just get along?
if it's a restaurant or somewhere a bit nicer, thin crust all the way, however if it's a cheapy greasy pizza has to be deep pan
resturant pizza/oven pizza - thin and crispy. solved.
If I wanted tomato sauce and melted cheese smeared over bread, I'd make it myself. And I can ALWAYS eat an entire pizza, dough and all.
I'll make an exception for Fire & Stone, 'cos their pizza is AMAZING.
i find with posh pizzas/the ones that attempt to be posh that you get from morrisons (pizza express margheritas are amazing), they need to be thin and crispy, as the deep pan ones just get crunchy and bready.
however, as has been mentioned, with greasy, big, 16" takeaway mothers, it has to be deep pan, as they just don't seem to be able to pull of thin and crispy quite as well.
plus, generally when you get a takeaway, you're pissed and hungry, and want alot of sustenance rather than crunchy texture.
it's a hypothesis to build upon, but let's work together to make it work, okay?
if I'm spending 15 quid on a Dominoes I want to be full for days!
