woke up to a huge bang and the house alarm going off - thought i was being burgled. jumped out of bed, and ran downstairs half expecting to meet someone on the stairs. managed to turn off the alarm and waited to hear if there was someone in the house. eventually crept back upstairs and saw a painting had fallen off the wall and hit the panic alarm in my room. i had just got back into bed when two police cars turned up outside. I had to go and apologise to them - luckily they were good guys and laughed about it. i didn't even realise i had a panic alarm - or that it went straight to the police! i am still so on edge - i had to post this to try and calm down. i don't think i will sleep for a while
