Especially things that won't cost vast amounts of money...
Las Ramblas is a must, you have to wander round Gaudi's park and at least look at La Sagrada Familia...Gaudi's park is free I think, as is Las Ramblas.
I spent a day in Barcelona when I was in Spain, I really want to go for an extended period and just wander around and absorb it all in a non touristy way, if that makes sense. It's a very interesting city though
I'll definitely bear that in mind.
I get there tomorrow night and have Friday, Saturday and most of Sunday. My brother lives there but is working on Friday so I'm free to wander by myself then he's gonna show me some bits of it on Saturday. I'll definitely go for Las Ramblas and maybe Guadi's park too...
just west of Las Ramblas. And somewhere just east is a big square which is bordered by loads of bars and restaurants, that's good.
Parc Guell is nice too.
just hanging around was fun enough, the gaudi cathedral was the only highlight, went to a couple of museums that were so boring I feel asleep on a bench, and I was robbed
Just stay at the airport with a blindfold round your eyes. Cheap and fun! (to see how people react- I use the word 'see' with a degree of irony of course!)
The beach is good for a walk, and all around that area, do the gaudi stuff on passieg de gracia. It's a really good walking city to get lost in. But after that it's a bit dull!
watch out for women throwing buckets of used washing up water onto your head from the balconies above, though. the picasso museum is pretty good (helps if you go on the last sunday of the month when it is free). montjuic is good to wander up to if you can be arsed to go that far. i think my favourite day in barcelona was spent just lozzerkin' in the sun in parc ciutadella listening and watching people playing bongos and throwing frisbees.
It was great when i went, though i do believe the albino gorilla has since died.
