it wasn't a cheap iPod either. and it's not locked. and i don't think i'm deafer than i was a year ago. what's the deal?
all ipods now have an automatic volume limiter built in. Something to do with German law I think (but could be wrong). Now way around it either I don't think. I console myself with the thought that I am not ruining my hearing anymore.
there is a volume limiter that you can put on so as to avoide it ever getting loud enough to damage you. That might be on?
I find mine is pretty good for music, but sometimes podcasts of mans talking can be a little quiet (esp if I'm walking down a busy road with traffic and such).
You can get headphones that are louder, and if you're still using the ipod earbuds, then you should deff get some new ones. Good luck!
but some albums that are mixed pretty low, like pj harvey's rid of me, are almost inaudible if there's traffic or anyhting like that
try going to settings and volume limit, or sound check?
changed the headphones and all was sorted.
if you click options or something? dont know if this just affects playback on itunes or on the ipod itself or not
I was pondering these:
There's a slider if you right-click on a selection of songs that's set to 0% by default. All your music then will be super loud on you iPod, but if you turn it down to about halfway it will be the max volume it used to be.
then they've just died out. If you listen to your ipod at full most of the time, the headphones wear out over time, I usually get about 8 months out of them befroe they start to die.
So get new headphones.
