Utterly dreadful comedy; like a hideously derivative, gag-free, six form revue. Just sickeningly bad.
That whole 'sorry mate, no off-duty bouncers please' bit was such a shameless rip-off of The Office bit with the IT bloke fixing Tim's computer, I half thought it might be deliberate.
The loud posh man was pretty much like My New Best Friend
The Office one was so so shameless though. As soon as we saw the office set-up we said 'The Office', but we didn't actually expect one of them to say 'can you smell the gin on me? - I bet I REEK of the stuff' they might as well have gone the whole hog and just said 'just the 8 pints for me last night then'.
I'm starting to think its all a big campaign to inspire people to write more comedy.
The synchronised swimming bit has been done too many times to count as well. It just pisses me off that they've had their witless tripe immediately commissioned when genuinely funny sketch shows like Cowards only get 3 episodes on BBC 4. Grrrrr!
I've not read any positive reviews on it yet
but i've not enjoyed anything i've seen them in at all
with Gavin and Stacey, Horne and Corden and 'Lesbian vampire Killers' coming out. BUT TITS RERLY GUD COZ THAT GUYS FAT!
I've just watched this on iPlayer...how can they get away with that office bit? Did they forget that everyone watched The Office?
It seems to be yes, they rip off everything and the stuff they don't rip off the writing is surely:
"hey, why dont...we, dress up like...synchronised swimmers?!"
"that's it, it's so out of character for me and you! Comedy gold!"
Like, anyone could write this. Your least funny friend could at least think that synchronised swimming doesn't quite fit a fat bloke.
How could anybody whose remotely astute or socially aware think that doing the over-familiar 'mouthy chav' is anything but stale and dated? Even when done by an overwhelmingly more talented performer like Matt Lucas?
This is real disposable, bargain-bin comedy of the very lowest quality. I'm glad I don't pay for a TV license
It's just a standard sketch show. Quite funny.
it actually is.
An absolutely terrible duo.
It gives me hope for my sitcom idea though, It's about a futuristic amusement park, where dinosaurs are brought to life, through advanced cloning techniques.
It's called 'Billy and The Clonosaurus'
BBC 3 will throw money at it!
But they did the Brasseye/The Day Today thing of only showing the persons name at the bottom of the screen for half a second.
than this pile of bilge.
