It is a pile of fucking spaffy wank.
What did you think?
Oh and, hello
embarrassing at times
it's brilliant and wonderful
i cant be arsed to go and see it
You don't get that too often.
AND: What about his massive thong that he wore in Vietnam? Look for the positives.
fuck da haterz
DO NOT SEE THIS FILM.
it's really faithful to the book on the whole, except for the very end. i enjoyed it.
it's not faithful to the book.
they change some little bits which aren't that important and the ending (as in the BIG ending) is... the same, essentially. the idea behind it is. there's just this tacked on bit at the end which i didn't like.
Just to stream line it for the screen a bit.
The ending lacks the punch of the book, but that's mostly because their characterisation of a bit off kilter.
Other than that, I think they did on the whole a wonderful job. The more I think about it, the better I think it was.
I've been rereading the graphic novel, and they manged to fit sooooooo much into the film
i thought it was pretty good for the most part. a bit long though and there was stuff that couldve done better, but its watchmen therefore= awesome
way too faithful to ever, EVER work as a film. a painful mess to endure for someone who hadnt read it
I thought it was alright, especially the bit when the bloke sat in front of me ruined the ending for his girlfriend. How are you?
AND really like the graphic novel. Screw you all.
people who say the sex scene was cringey - it was supposed to be ridiculous, that was the whole point
people who complained about 'ride of the valkyeries' - you haven't seen apocalypse now, have you?
people who thought they should have kept the original ending - i actually liked this one a lot better, it was really succinct, and worked well. The giant squid would have been a bit ridiculous on screen
I thought it was excellent, characterisation was great, action scenes were fun and it managed to fit loads of the good little bits from the comic in without seeming rushed. 8/10
Yes. That scene was just ridiculous, and I liked the film
'raises hand' 'man explodes' DIN DIN DINDIN DIIIIN DIIIN
i liked it!
I thought the music in the film echoed this, particularly that scene.I thought it was brilliant, with a little cheeky smile
can people stop saying this about a movie featuring 4 huge glowing wangs on screen at once? Cheers.
Then tell me that Watchmen is THAT bad....
and watchmen a 2. maybe a 1.
But not great.
The outstanding chapters in the book, the rorschach and Dr. Manhattan ones, came across very average on film.
The only alteration that benefited it was Nite Owls reaction to Rorschachs death IMO.
But it's a relatively competent adaptation is the best way to describe it as said by a friend of mine
the music is a disaster
some of the scenes were utterly embarrassing
and during the fight scenes you could almost hear the sound guys burying Snyders Drowning Pool albums so he couldn't soundtrack them with Bodies
I only managed 20 minutes of that a few nights ago.
be kind rewind knows it's a bit of fun and a rose tinted love letter to film making
as my friend (who didn't know anything about it) said watchmen seems to very conscious of how important it's supposed to be and full of itself
But I'll probably watch it one day when it's on tv and I'm drunk, and I'll fall asleep on the sofa with something in the oven.
but without the baby brewing.
Which isn't very impressive for such a hyped film.
I read the graphic novel (comic book) about ten years ago and thought it was ok 6/10. I have some fantasy/sf obsessed friends who were almost wetting themselves about it and they were amazed when I said the book was only quite good.
I thought I might go see it if the reviews were astounding. They clearly aren't, so I won't.
