was well good
i wrote a blog with pictures and stuff
thought some of you may be interested (not kik)
Looks like you had a good time. Are you thinking of doing another house show?
me and my housemate in my band are well up for another one, it was so much fun last time
but I support this sort of thing.
There is a warehouse in Norwich which could have probably been placed at your disposal.....
which is just outside the city centre.
Just off unthank road as your Uea student, Regarding the warehouse, its being used a art/rehersal space behind anglia square,a bunch of sections with one main bit where you can do gigs. I haven't been since just before Christmas when Part chimp played but as long as you don't advertise the gig, has to be invite only sort thing, they would have probably been happy to let you use it.
that sounds pretty awesome actually!
I like the cheeky photo of the 2 wardens. You should have invited them to stay for the other bands! :D
That was a really good read Jack. It looked like a lot of fun, even the wardens seemed to be having a good time. Well done man.
it was so much fun seriously, i think i was smiling the entire day
never happened though, mostly due to stupid terraced housing and bastard neighbours. Looks really awesome though, give me a shout when your next zine is out? I like zines.
But yeah we just warned the neighbours and for the most part they seem cool, so it went ok, i doubt they could hear much anyway. I fully reccomend that everyone puts on a house show though at least once.
I didnt know that. I've seen you guys play at the QC a couple of times and I liked v much.
As mick says up there though, fully recommend the use of Unit 5 should you decide to do something like that again. House gigs are awesome but some of the practicalities are just easier somewhere else. More capacity too :o)
and you're not in maths. I read that horribly wrong. Thats what happens when you're skiving off on the internet but your boss decides to come and have a chat. :/
The clue was in the url. Doh!
im in dorian gay, maths are better, but we are ok.
and that rhymes.
i'll keep that place in mind too!
for fuck's sake jack!!! letting the team down :*(
its just not as big or anything... sorry :(
and thanks kik.
I'll look when I get home
nice one bud, glad it all went well. I played in a basement in Leeds a few weeks ago, and it was absolutely ace. Glad you had fun!
i think they are better than pretty much every other type of gig i can think of
nice work. I've never been to a house show before but I really like the idea of them.
so i thought i might as well do it myself
in his house just off Aylsham Road, behind Mandarin Cycles (if you know that area at all?) a few years back. Good times indeed.
The house was set back from the road so no neighbours to worry about and a massive front room. Fucking brilliant they were. Unfortunately the chaps that threw them have moved to London :o(
that sounds perfect, our house isn't in the best location, but its not too bad really if we close all the doors and stuff
sounds like fun though mate :)
i once went to a house show where one of the neighbours put a brick through the window.
can you expand on the guy getting punched by a scene kid? it sounds entertaining. was he upping teh punx too much?
he stayed down with us in norwich and we went out to the club (as i said) but then walking home there was the three of them up ahead whilst i waited for my girlfriend to finish work. from what i can gather one of them shouted at a friend of mine, and the guy asked what the problem was (probably not all that rationally mind) to which he got punched in the forehead. and then my other friend got in a tussle and went to the floor and kicks were kicked. i didnt see it though. the people he was with were not punxxx though, one was in the shoegaze band and the other isnt really into all that but is good friends with one of my bandmates
have you got some tattoos on your fingers or wazzit?
we just wrote on peoples fingers to show they had paid. (we charged £3 to pay for the bands transport and that)
good work fella it sounds like the work payed off
I fuckin love Maths, I'm yet to see them though let alone have them play in my living room hehehe
but as you probably could see, my house is pretty small!
I really want to do one now, in my garage, in the summer.
Maths are braw. I know the ex-bassist and we talked about your zine once, Jack.
he knows some of my friends i believe, he moved up there a while ago?
what did he say?
and yeah, do it! its totally worth it.
