i either want to go Berlin or Riga...
Hopefully both. I may even work in a trip to Berlin as well.
More than likely Lake Tahoe (though this will be early next year so don't really count).
Probably at least one trip to France.
Probably a week somewhere in the summer on the continent.
and then getting the train to france with stops on the way....should be good holidays this year
and hopefully somewhere northerly or easterly in Europe towards the end of summer.
going to Grasse (just outside of Nice) to work for 2 weeks, a week on Friday, and probably working in Grasse/Paris over summer.
Which I'm mega excited about, except yesterday I woke up and my left knee is inexplicably swollen. So hopefully that'll sort itself out by Friday...
mums out in the 3 valleys this week, snows good apparently
I'm going with the uni, bought a pass for the whole of the 3 Valleys for an extra £35, amazing deal apparently, he said he probably skiid about a third of the whole place in a week, can't imagine being somewhere with that many runs!
and one week in skye in less than a month. unless something terrible happens.
the long-haul is ideally to india, as there is nowhere else i massively want to go to. this time last year i was in new york for a week and it really didn't feel like a holiday at all
also, Chicago and NYC. that's about all i can afford.
was excellent. Also doing Estonia and hopefully Lundy Island in the summer. Lundy might be more of a day trip but I'm calling it a foreign holiday.
and various dilapidated English seaside resorts, hopefully
may fit in a trip to india as well, dunno yet
a month's travelling in the USA after my job contract ends at the end of July.
Probably Croatia cos of the Euro
and if I get another job sharpish I will be off to California in June.
Would like a weekend break or two away before then though, haven't thought about where exactly
dublin r ghey!
Las Vegas for 4 nights, somewhere in Mexico for 7 nights and New York for 3 nights in August.
Possibly France with my parents, and I'd love to go to Berlin and/or a Spanish festival, but I doubt I'll be able to afford it.
Eastern Europe by rail in August - Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Hungary.
and other places.
I have nothing to look forward to this summer, no festivals, no nothing. Not even a ladyfriend to sit in a park with, in the sun.
ideal holiday destination, there's even RIDES.
though i suppose it is a good recommendation...
Last year when I went I saw Paul Smith from Maximo Park, he was wearing winter clothes in the middle of summer, he looked really hot and bothered 'tsk.
BUT oh no he isn't.
he goes to my politics teachers pub quiz apparently. he does those stupid dances when he wins.
or near there. northumberland anyway. is it nice?
to visit my friend
So the east coast roadtrip o was going to do is probably out of the picture unless I can come up with some extra cash. But depending on how long I'm over I'll be going to Brighton, the up to Wolverhampton where my grandpa and step-grandma live, followed by time on the Isle of Man where my gran & step-grandpa live. Might try to swing by Amsterdam, Barcelona, or southern France, depending on time/cost/where my sister will go. Then down to Chicago with my uni mates in august for lollapalooza.
In the same month. I'm staying with a friend in Seattle and going with my family to Italy.
I'm hoping that if all goes according to plan I'll be able to emigrate over in the next few years and maybe live down there :)
for Latitude and then Barcelona in August for a somewhat civilised stag do.
not counting festivals. I don't think I'll be going anywhere this year.
4 days camping with my girlfriend and 4 other mates in the middle of the July. :D
There have also been vague very preliminary plans for a holiday with other friends, to a currently unknown destination...
awesome line up but REALLY REALLY fucking shit atmosphere. loads of fighting, NO bins so rubbish everywhere, loads of thieving and people pissing on tents. eek.
I'm pretty good at avoiding such things. Ie. I'm a wuss :)
I've heard similar bad stories, but I suppose it's just hit and miss as to whether it affects you.
i'm sure you'll still have a good time. just pick a good camping spot - maybe as out of the way as you can get (away from all the arseholes!). you're not allowed to take your own drink into the stage area either so hide it well! we put it in our waistbands at the back. the journey is a mission BUT good fun, and dublin is ace although a bit strange :) PLUS oxegen had *THE* best festival toilets i've EVER seen. they have LOADS of attendants who regularly clean and restock them with tissue. that was pretty great :) i hope you have a good time
so bang goes the out of the way suggestion.
I'll just smuggle some sort of weaponry in, and hide it in my sleeping bag.
so aiming to get out to see her about may time.
camping in somerset at easter.
and FINGERS CROSSED new york towards the end of the year.
hopefully Barcelona for Primavera
The States in the Summer for a bit.
Then trip wise maybe the Train to Iran in the summer, haven't decided yet on my summer plans yet.
or anywhere with my mates really.
list of places i want to go is almost infinitely long...
