What was it like? I have. It was nice.
He offered me drinks from his rider. I declined.
You are also welcome to have met several.
I dont have any heroes though
Suggest some people worth heroic adulation zapsta
You can buy me a Whopper.
There is this virus called the BK virus that causes tumour growth in people with low immunity. This guy I know keeps calling it the burger king virus. Im gonna punch him next time. But he sound like he could be a hero to you.
No he doesn't, he sounds ace; I don't know why I said that. He sounds ace.
which is quite good at fucking children up with congenital disorders
Aye, this nerdy grad student discovered it
Im actually doing a bit of research on it. Its a survival/ trophic factor in the development of particular motor neurons, working through the "patched" receptor - I think it promotes commisary growth or something. Im doing a presentation tommorow about apoptosis in the nrvous system and its part of that.
I wouldn't call them heroes exactly, but I've met Charles from The Wrens and Will from Okkervil River. Two of my favourite albums ever were written by them, so it was quite special. I just wish I hadn't been so drunk.
I've met a couple of musicians who's music I love and means a lot to me, but I wouldn't call them heroes as such. I'm just glad I met them and they weren't twats.
my brother ore unifirm all year in primary school and as a treat they went to Asda and met Bernard Manning!!
I also met Noel Gallagher when he was a hero to me. He wasn't after meeting him.
I want to hear about Ric Flair.
He was alright about it.
I have been a huge fan for like 15 years, so that was pretty awesome. I smoked drugs with them through an apple, and probably made a bit of an arse of myself, but they were friendly and nice. That was good.
...got to meet Dan Gilvezan last year. He was the original voice of Bumblebee in the Transformers cartoons. Granted, it's a bit tenuous only meeting a voice-actor for a ficitional character I loved as a kid, but he was the nicest guy.
I nearly punched some kid who had clearly never watched a single episode of the original series when he asked him "if he could still do Bumblebee's voice"... YOU WEREN'T THERE AT THE BEGINING! YOU DON'T KNOW HOW GOOD IT WAS! What a prick.
Despite several beatings and months without food he still refuses to change into a VW Beetle.
never give up.
sorry, couldn't help myself
kelly jones when i was very young was a massive thing for me. lame. but my friend met and shook hands with tom waits which is incredible. dead jealous.
And as a Rangers fanatic who played as striker for the school you can imagine I was very very excited, so much so that I could hardly speak when I met him. I have met him a few times since and everytime I was flustered, including when I met him a couple of years back. I am 30 yrs old and I don't think this will ever change.
or did you MTFU?
i met him when i was thirteen and he gave me a cuddle. I felt weak at the knees.
but I've met/interviewed several of my favourite bands, and managed not to make a complete tit out of myself. I see what people mean though when they say they don't want to meet their heroes - my old English teacher was a huge Brian Wilson fan, and he didn't go and see him when he played the Eden Project as he didn't want to be potentially let down.
He was cool, although I didn't talk to him much. He signed my Muffin Break discount card which was nice of him. Don't think I've met anyone else who I have a lot of admiration for.
He let me cross the road when he was in his car. Greatest walk home from a paper round ever.
and he was very coo.
i.e. it's not you
and he gave me wine :)
It was OK. I was a bit nervous though, and I think I probably ended up just talking rubbish while he nodded and smiled politely.
and he was my hero when I was 15 or something, all I said was thank you as he handed me an autograph I'd asked for, then he smiled and said 'fanks'
Which was nice.
He also had a cigarette tucked behind his ear, which at the time I thought was the coolest thing ever!
To this day I regret saying nothing, but then it would have just been awkward :(
RFTC, Hot Snakes and music for ages. Top guy, and effortlessly cool.
keifer sutherland last night!
