I'm a breakfast-dinner-tea
Elevenses, Tea, Dinner.
In spite of this, I always go for the latter.
are northern. if I go out for dinner I'll say lunch.
I think I'm a bit confused 'cause of having Northern parents but growing up in the South.
My dad is from Yorkshire and pronounces breakfast 'break-fast' until we all laugh at him and he tries not to.
There is no northern in my family though, I don't know why we say it this way :(
'cause I'm a Northerner.
but this has been ridiculed out of me since I left Suffolk. How quickly I forget my roots...
Or sometimes Breakfast-dinner-supper
I always say lunch, but I leave dinner and tea free to play around with. Leave myself some options, yano?
I won't call lunch dinner, because it sounds too crazy. However, I'll substitute dinner for tea if I'm talking to someone who says tea, just so we keep making sense with each other and not have to be prompted to whichever correction we feel is apposite. Some people make a big deal out of it, but I generally don't care what I use. Except lunch = dinner.
That makes me a bit odd, doesn't it?
Also, supper is an ovaltine and a biscuit, in your dressingown, just before you go to bed.
that's what I always had for supper at my nans!
you speak the truth.
Fruhstuck, Mittagsessen, Abendsbrot. No room for confusion there...
Literally: 'early piece', 'midday food', 'evening bread'
morning rice, midday rice, evening rice.
"Dammit Akiko, you have to take the rice thing so fucking literally, don't you!? Why can't we have pizza like Yoshi and his wife!?"
Always, always, always. Despite getting the piss taken out of me mercilessly.
