it was bloody lovely. I'm proper norf innit.
mushy peas are the best bit.
Don't you mean 'Babbies Yed'?
Down my way, (Leigh, not far from Manchester) puddings are traditionally known as Babby's Y'ed (like baby's head, smooth etc)
So you ask for 'babby's y'ed, chips n pay wet'
Also, sausage is known as widdows memory (pronounced widders memry).
I can't beleive they didn't know what a pudding was in Manchester.
I asked for a chip barm in Leeds once and both the people serving in the shop said 'Are you from Burnley?'
It turns out they call chip barms 'chip teacakes'.
I'm not fucking asking for a chip teacake.
they were there as well, but didn't have the cash on me.
KiK, I don't miss Farnworth for a lot of things (apart from family and friends of), but being able to get a steak pudding from a chippy is up there. Chips peas pudding and gravy is an absolute treat, as is chips, mushy peas and curry sauce (try it).
is enhanced by giving it a pastry casing.
that's why they invented the 'pie bap'.
i want one now
