Manchester DiSsers!
We've got lots of exciting stuff coming up at The Deaf Institute including M83, Abe Vigoda and The Mae Shi, The Week That Was and Papercuts plus The Invisible next Tuesday...
Join this group to keep up-to-date - you're lagging behind the Sheffield one in terms of numbers at the moment!
facebook groups do make it easier to inform people of what's going on
to invite, organize, plan events etc.
...
It's pretty much a necessary evil if you want to tell people about stuff. But I don't send fifty bulletins a day or anything like that, it's just a handy place to keep everything together and ensure people who are interested get to know about the shows.
I'm going to M83 and Abe Vigoda/Mae Shi,
Should be good nights.
hey there
i wanted to join the sheffield group but i don't want to have to change my network. it stops loads of people joining and seems like a pretty needless restriction. kthx.
i'll try and come to some of these too though
i think i'm home for the week that was.
RE: location
I know. It's a bitch that you can't un-restrict it to a network. The only solution would be to start the group again, which I might just have to do.
Update:
They've recently changed it! Now it's global, so you can join. Excellent news.
yay!
i am in.
When's M83?
Thurs 7th May
the name of venue has always put me off going
but ive heard good things
haha
you're missing out. honestly, it's the best venue of that size in the country. it's this old converted theatre, you can sit up at the back on stairs and see, or get up close and personal down the front. 300 capacity. lovely. see: http://www.thedeafinstitute.co.uk/venue-information/
Anyone coming tonight?
The Invisible, Tame Impala and Urgent Talk @ The Deaf Institute, 8pm - http://www.last.fm/event/942129
I'm at The Deaf Institute now, it really is lovely!
as someone who doesn't know Manchester
is the Deaf Institute an place where actual deaf people go and is hired out for gigs or is it just the comedy name of a venue or promoter?
it's a listed building called the deaf institute
it's a really nice gig venue upstairs, despite having a kind of wanky bar.
So...
... who was there? It was a lot of fun. How good were Tame Impala!? Their first ever UK gig, astonishingly.
Did anyone get any photos?
