Some of these are awesome. I think that the Danish cows are my favourite.
Nah, it's probably one of those once in a lifetime shots that you couldn't fuck up even if you had the camera pointing the wrong way.
Looks very photoshopped though- far too much texture.
I don't like photoshopping. Sometimes it can be used to great effect, but I think generally any photoshopped photo automatically doesn't have as much merit as an untouched one.
A lot of them have had a fair bit of work done to them.
photoshop also let's you mimic over or under developing images. It's pretty fun. And addictive.
And I still don't think bad-prior-to-photoshopping images have quite as much merit. Not even just in terms of quality, but in that the original is that moment captured that way, there's something special to it, while photoshop can go any way. That's not to say photoshopped images can't be great; just they never have the chance of being as nice. (I'm not speaking in sentimental terms, either.)
I used to have such a nice photoshop program, had cost me like $100, and my dad lost it in moving all the files from one computer to another when he insisted he do it rather than I. Still burns.
It was in the Wildlife Photographer Awards a year or two bag. Which is way better.
By the way, photography nerds, free exhibition at the National theatre at the moment - landscape photographer of the year. Really really good.
my favourite is either the one with the birds and the feet or the cows
but... a few of them aren't very original are they? Frog climbing out of jar, shoal of fish avoiding predators, massive flock of birds, diving sea birds. Maybe that's not what counts.
I like the old lady one and the fish one. The ganet one is very good, but it looks like the bird's been touched up. Anyway, wtf do I know.
