- Plane crash in Amsterdam
- David Cameron's son dies
- Psychopath sailor kills 21 seals
and also Zimbabwe. yep. trumps the lot.
And this has little, if anything to do with our lord and saviour jesus christ
those are both 'items of news' of recent times. as he states in his post.
is that in our western culture we make more out of tragedies like this on our soil, even though, there is much worse stuff happening to others in other parts of the world. It is wrong that their suffering isnt equally reported or respected.
You are an abhorrent, horrible character. My point = it's not often three stories as nasty as this are published in the same day.
there's a lot worse than that going on and being reported every day. this is by far not the worst day of news in recent times.
this is an otp response to his original post
horrible, what she is suggesting is that everyday brings stories as horrible, they might not be ones that capture your attention, but for instance in a day when hundreds are killed in some foreign country you can also find other stories of domestic parents who have been bereived and of animal cruelty.
But Zimbabwe is in total systemic collapse. 75% of the population is entirely dependent on food aid to survive. One agency has estimated that in excess of 5 million people are going to die of starvation in the next 4 years. In 6 years the life expectancy has fallen from 57 to 34. 4,000 have already died from cholera and the entire water network is infected - as are large swathes of the northern part of South Africa and all but 2 administrative districts of Mozambique. The political divide between TDC and ZPF has become ethnic. There have already been outbreaks of violence and if power sharing doesn't work out tere is the all too disturbingly real threat of another Rwanda.
A country is coming apart at the very seams. We are standing by while the biggest humanitarian disaster is brewing. This is not "always depressing" average Third World news as wishpig says, this is a catastrophe that is happening RIGHT NOW. If you find you bad news day worse, then I'm afraid it's you is the abhorent and horrible one.
200+ of them had to be killed :(
They would have suffered a lot less.
but the transportation of pigs usually isn't too pleasant.
TOO RIGHT LOL.
still alive, thankfully.
i've stopped reading the papers
whilst he was texting at the wheel on the motorway only got TWELVE WEEKS in jail.
he finished texting a few minutes before the car crash. the crash involved a drunk driver, standing next to his car, which was on the wrong side of the road facing the wrong way, and which was on the carriageway. the guy then drove into it. the texting was said to be unrelated.
who shot his father's pregnant girlfriend in the back of the head as she slept, with a shotgun that his father bought him for christmas? in america, obviously
You know how to cheer me up, darling.
1 - was not in prison for his crime
2 - he showed absolutely no remorse about doing it
makes his suffering all the more delicious.
but the story surrounding it makes it hella sad.
Obviously those 3 things are awful and you wouldn't wish them on anybody but it doesn't change my day in the slightest.
Maybe I'm wrong but getting upset over things that you are that detached from seems a bit odd.
raised on violence
I'm American Youth
angers me, even. like that shotgun thing i posted about up there. you just wonder what if it ever happened to someone you cared about
It's like when CG used to ask why people put sad faces in threads that they have no emotional attachment to. But the death of Cameron's son made me wonder if CG would've popped in to do a :(
were far more depressing and significant recent news
