I would make every town have a pub at their train station, just by the ticket booth. Imagine how much more efficient drinking sessions would be? You could go on pub crawls and take in different places. You could do them all over the country. And you'd be able to buy a special Crawl Ticket that would encourage this, for a discounted price. Being sensible for a second, though, I'd also put up those clear door things on the platforms like they have in Japan, to stop drunken sods falling onto the tracks. I got this idea after watching an episode of James & Oz Drink to Britain, where they go on a crawl about train stations in Manchester (I think); I've only seen bars in big central train stations, but never any proper pubs. It'd be a total winner.
