Has anyone here been in the RAF at any point and/or does anyone know anyone that has done it? Have you ever thought about it?

I attended a careers fair today, and the way they outlined the life you get as NC aircrew, it pretty much sounds like all the disparate elements of life that I'm craving at the moment: decent pay, living in the North of Scotland, travel to various places around the world (Norway! Canada! Cyprus! um, the Falklands!), keeping fit, keeping occupied, etc...

But it's a massive step, and I'm just looking to see if anyone else has been in the same situation as me (or has gone one step further and done it).
