i'll go now, shall i?
I can't see any reason it wouldn't happen; Russia have given him persmission, Abramovich more or less pays his wages anyway, Chelsea only want him to commit until May, he only wants to commit to May, there can be no wrangling over transfer and wage budgets, the youth team system etc.
Get Hiddink in until May and then go for Zola/Clarke.
and I respect the fact he wants to finish his job with Russia.
I think getting the Zola/Clarke dream team is slim, but how brilliant would it be! In the backs of their minds, I'd like to think they'd like to come, but would they desert the Hammers so soon after starting to build their identity on the team? Maybe if they had been there a couple of seasons maybe.
Didier Deschamps could be a good shout as an outsider? Did very well at Juve and an ex-player.
but I think Zola would find it extremely difficult to say no to Chelsea if they went for him in the summer, when his obligation to West Ham is perhaps a little less pressing. That isn't to say it's a certainty or, ahem, "done deal" obviously but can you imagine him point-blank turning down the club he loves?
I'd bite West Ham's hands off if we could just get Clarke back to be honest.
and started off pretty badly. It looks like Zola could become an excellent manager but I really hope he stays where he is for a long time and develops the club like David Moyes at Everton.
If he took over at Chelsea in the Summer and fucked up his first few months he could be out on his arse like Scolari. Chelsea should go for a proven club manager with European success behind him.
dont let zola and clarke go for the money shot at chelsea.
