I don't know if I've ever lowered myself to a girl advice thread BUT...

moousee [Edit] [Delete] 65 replies 23:42, 8 February '09

I was DJing with a friend the other night, and I got chatting to a girl. She was really pretty and had a personality that was quite hot. She is a solicitor, and a few (4 years) older than me. She left and then came back 15 minutes later to take my number, and then gave me her card (a tad twatty). We've been texting, and now she wants to go out for a drink.

The problem is that I feel she is pushing for playoffs in the Championship, whereas I am a bit of Stockport county. I don't think that I'd feel comfortable meeting her again, as we're 'from different worlds'. Do you reckon that I just power through the fear and meet her, or steer clear, because I reckon there's a 92.7 percent incompatibilty risk.

  • Don't be such a brusma and fuck her in her undoubtedly opulent, plush home.

    Cheers.

    • how does that even count as being a brusma?

for a start, women don't talk to me in the first place

you better go on this date, or I'm going to hunt you down and run you over with a fire engine. Ok?

        • Of course you should meet up with her

If she really is a league above you then just enjoy it while it lasts.

          Jook | 9 Feb '09, 00:03 | X
        • The thing is though,

As an altrincham fan I enjoy the cup runs as much as anyone else, but they can detract from the league campaign. There is another girl who is pretty cool, its nothing official yet as she lives some way away. Maybe I should just settle?

          moousee | 9 Feb '09, 00:07 | X
          • I'm certainly not hogging anyone!

I wouldn't consider it if I was taken!

          • meet her

worse that happens is you don't hit it off. oh boo fucking hoo.

otherwise you might meet sometime to enjoy some good fucking with. or even better enjoy a healthy relationship that blossoms.

stop being a fanny and just meet her, what the fuck is the problem?

              • k i'll try and fit one in

                alcxxk @werk | 9 Feb '09, 23:43 | X
          • oh my god, this is an amazing situation

she is clearly so so interested, it would be ridiculous not to. is the scary part that she is really interesed - for example, coming back for your number, suggesting going for a drink blah blah? i mean, if she was less enthusiasic, maybe the whole job thing wouldn't register

the card thing is a bit odd, but probably was just a practical thing. i reckon the fact she was at this venue in the first place and you started talking (obviously some attraction straight away) suggests it's all good. she clearly knows her own mind, unless she is going through some odd phase of meeting inappropriate men, which means she probably has issues anyway which to steer clear of

i think taking one date a time is maybe the best idea, rather than projecting ahead and imagining all kinds of awkward, weird situations? i normally do this kind of thing, but then have to remember it's always nerve-wracking meeting people's friends or whatever (regardless of what they do for a living)

            hellatronix | 9 Feb '09, 07:57 | X
            • well, I can't help but think its a bit of a no go

further than one date. If I don't feel comfortable then its a sign that I shouldn't right?

              moousee @hellatronix | 9 Feb '09, 11:25 | X
          • meat her. One 'e', one 'a'.

          • Recently I elected not to meet a girl in similar circumstances.

On reflection I feel I was a complete and utter idiot and should have just given it a try.

However much of a disaster it would have been I still regret not trying to meet up with her.

          • She's probably just desperate to find a bloke before valentine's day love.

Watch it, the next thing you'll know she'll be expecting a hundred quid's worth of roses to arrive on Saturday ;)
Hmm, I dunno - how would you feel about dating a girl who earns shitloads more than you? Some guys seem to have a problem with it.
From experience of a similar situation with a friend of a similar age to you, he was intimidated by her friends... (but she had a great rack so he persisted).
