i'm getting hungry, but it's only just 4. i might have some grilled chicken and cous cous. what are you planning to eat?
Don't be ridiculous. How can you EAT tea?
before they discovered that you can drink tea
damn you all.
make it for me
fucking blows your fucking head off. fucking brilliant.
any other recipes i can use chickpeas in that arn't hummus (i have no money to buy tahini or lemons) would be appreciated. Also, how long do they keep for after they've been soaked (soaked but not boiled/tenderised)? If they can last till monday then I can hummus it up.
i don't know what else to do with chickpeas, hummus will always win out.
I got chickers to spare. Might hit that up, thanks.
Lovely combo. I use baby spinach, but that's mainly because my local grocery doesn't sell fresh regular spinach. So I dunno which way's better.
take that, society.
and the latest you can eat it is 8pm. I can't cope with this London thing of people going - oh let's go to the cinema/theatre/pub and then eat 'dinner' afterwards.
i've never thought it's weird, but i suppose it is. normally you just wait til you get hungry, rather than expecting to get hungry at 6:00pm on the dot.
i pretty much always meet people for a drink/some cultural thing before going to get a meal. maybe i'll do it the other way around, though a meal always seems a nice way to end an evening
Unless you have (or are) small children then any earlier is just wrong.
you being from Yorkshire and all. My dad's from Yorkshire and has ingrained in my his early tea eating ways.
I guess when I was a kid my mother never got home till, like, 7.30ish, so maybe it just stuck from that. But it still feels really, really strange. I mean, people don't go to restaurants before, say, 7.30 at the earliest, so I don't know why it's so different at home.
but the opposite - I always go to restaurants at about 6.30, same as I do at home!
Unless you're talking Pizza Express etc.
think i'll go for a chicken butty too actually.
You know, when we go to the Ritz and drink Earl Grey and eat cucumber sandwiches and scones and stuff like that.
but then I am a person of considerable style and refinement
Only we're not taught it's in the Ritz; of course you all have full tea sets and stuff in your own homes, so that you're able to do tea time every day.
......and for dinner 7.00.
down a gravy mine.
