Stalker by Andrei Tartovsky

eschaton [Edit] [Delete] 12:51, 6 February '09

article on it in todays Guardian F&M supplement:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2009/feb/06/andrei-tarkovsky-stalker-russia-gulags-chernobyl

Uninteresting fact: all three people who I live with (including myself) own this on dvd.

Err, anyway, you seen this? Hot damn it's confusing as a motherfucker first time round, but it really draws you in despite this. Repeated viewings and it becomes really addictive, largely because (as the author of the article notes) it seems noticably different each time you see it.

Did it actually make any sense to you first time you saw it? I feel like you ahve to train to watch his films, and that over time you build up the ability to get more and more out of them / it.

Lets talk about it.
