is it a nice place to go/live?
but then i typed 'i used to live on cock' and lol'd. now i forgot my joke :(
try it, I'll show you where to start
erm that's about it really.
but I'm sure there are things that annoy me, but not enough that it's a problem.
The culture is great, and it's expanding all the time. Are you thinking of going for university ?
so chances are i'm going to end up there in september.
My dad went there (30 years ago)and i'm going to an open day in april, but it's nice to hear from people who know it and stuff.
there three times now) and love the train ride.. I find it very cathartic... I also love that impressive bridge the train goes over... gotta fucking love the Victorians for their bridge building - I love big, tall, gi-normous bridges... there is also a very cool arts centre in town that actually holds impressive exhibitions (it's the old Mill - forgot the name of it - they had Yoko Ono there recently)...
I'm also planning on having a killer night out there as soon as I can with roasthemonaspit's friend who I've met a few times who is moving there soon.
Very friendly people but that's what you get for stepping outside of London town...
Oh - and the shopping there isn't too bad... and coast very, very close and beautiful... I was planning taking myself and my dog up there during the summer with some friends this year to support British economy rather than go abroad.
Yeah, thumbs up for me.
you'll like the bridges, probably, everyone likes the bridges (not the rubbish shopping centre in sunderland, either)
yes, it's a really nice city actually. people are generally pretty friendly too. there's loads of places nearby n'all. like... HADRIANS WALL. but you get what i mean.
erm i quite enjoy living here, i mean i can't remember the last time i lived anywhere else because I was TWO but it seems alright yes.
we have nice beaches! NICE BEACHES, that's what you want from a place.
come live with us. now.
beaches aren't very high on my wishlist for a place :)
if you go anywhere else you'll miss having nice beaches and stuff. yeah.
but that's about it. Stay well away.
there's plenty of horrible clubs and parts of the city centre are absolute no-go areas at night but other than that it's a great place to live.
it's affordable (average rents in most of the student areas £200-250 per month)
there are plenty of good local shows to go to with plenty of good local bands playing at them
really neat cultural stuff - baltic, art's cinemas, independent galleries that sort of thing
plenty of good pubs so you've got somewhere nice to go while staying miles from the horrible ones
and a Greggs on every street corner
(ie. Indie clubs)
some really big ones
some smaller ones that even play music that isn't this charming man/love will tear us apart/the gossip
