we have no snow but i'm ill and have made it to uni
I am now
I won't be in about 2 minutes. Have fun.
^ I'm going home in a bit
Pint in the Princess Louise at 12?
Too late
Yeah
I just went home
Drink soon yeah? :(
Yep
PS. Have you looked at my profile recently?
Look at my profile.
good man
I don't plan to stay very long either.
What if you're in work BECAUSE of the snow?
Then where do you sign? (PS: I'm not in work because of the snow.)
Listen up chum
I'm the only person here in an office of 10. I've just declared myself King and am taxing the stationery cupboard.
I got in fine :)
It is now a whiteout out there and I stand limited chance of ever making it home again :(
Should've brought a sleeping bag this morning.
haha
i hope there is a shop of some kind near your place of work to keep you going through the night.
I cunningly put a bag of mini pepparami bites and a bottle of water
into my bag. I am well set to weather any storm.
well yeah
but there is almost no snow here. lucky for me.
Hello!
I have been told to go home at 2pm, so it aint all bad!
hi
only one in my team too. i should actually make use of the quiet and do some seriously needed work, but can't be arsed.
me neither
tho I wasn't planning on doing much seeing as it is transfer deadline day.
^this
my book is good though
I live across the road from work
so im in. It looks so pretty in manchester right now. I cant wait to get some hot soup and hot chocolate for lunch. Snow!
...
I like how this country basically almost collapses at any kind of unusual weather. We could be these guys... http://tinyurl.com/at5t7k
Jeezo
that makes getting wet socks from walking to work seem much less of a problem!
Here sir
thanks to the Victoria line being unaffected by 'adverse weather conditions'. Is none of it above ground?
I noticed earlier on the TFL website that the Waterloo and City line was suspended due to these 'adverse weather conditions'. How does that work, it's 100% underground. Seems to be alright now.
The tube announcer had a mild giggle fit when he read the list of delays and suspensions
and then got to "There is a good service on the Victoria Line".
Victoria line is 100% underground
Waterloo & City is basically a giant drain, so there's a lot of bits that poke out and it freezes quite a bit.
I am in work
Most people seem to have made it in. I was late. Cleaning the snow off my car was like painting the Forth Bridge.
Me.
It's stopped now so I doubt we'll be sent home. Doesn't sound like many people have made it in though. WHO WILL SAVE THE BIRDS??
I'm here.
I R STALWART.
I'm sure a snowdrift is currently blocking the front door and blocking me in though. Lame.
I'm here
pretty good office turnout due to my boss refusing to take the snow seriously. I'm refusing to do any work regardless because I'm a workshy scumbag.
^ this
A colleague who works elsewhere on site has been sent home but my boss is lame.
Football tonight is cancelled though :(
WHY OH
WHY AM I HERE?!
damn my relatively smooth journey into work.
I'm in
It's like a ghost town here, I'd say about a fifth of the people who should be in today are actually in. I don't have a lot to do, and am hoping my boss calls me to say I can go home. One can only hope...
Hi
I have no idea why I bothered
I'm here
and so far having a bog-standard, run-of-the-mill day. It's just some snow.
How heavy is it up there?
I was walking through it on the way to work earlier on and it came to halfway up my shin. It was mental. And I have really long shins!
HALFWAY UP MY SHIN!
It's nothing like that up here.
It barely covers my trainers.
^
you do have longshins as well.
I went on the roof earlier
and looked out over Covent Garden all the way to the Houses of Parliament.
OOOOOOOOOOOH
So did I
the snow was a foot deep, easily. Amazing scenes.
...
I am waiting for a bicycle courier.
Gleefully.
i don't envy them today
it was a mission cycling to work today.
I'm waiting for the
'go home' email but have a feeling the go home email people have gone or didn't turn up today.
I made it in.
Woohoo for me. I'm the only person in the bit where I work though there's a few other people about.
hi hi
my boss hasn't made it in. 1-0 to the lbc.
My boss didn't make it in either
So I went home
1-0 to me
my boss is in
but he still dont givva FUCK.
Drink later?
unfortunately nay, I am off to photography nightschool after work.
every monday for the next 8 weeks. It's my birthday present from my parents.
They best be some DAMN good facebook pics in april, then.
In all seriousness though, that sounds pretty cool.
Oh, did you watch any of the wire yet? (inane conversation ftw)
Yeah, nearly finished!
Amazing scenes. Photo course cancelled. Drink?
fucking hell, good effort!
drink sounds nice. Sadly snow has caused parliament's bars to shut so would have to be another locale. Ideas?
I have a few.
There's a nice place opposite the parliamentary bookshop. Or there's a couple dotted around SJP station.
I'm in
Going in 30 minutes, just attended a really interesting speech by the Chairman of the US Federal Trade Commission so it was kinda worth it.
i'm the only one in my office.
:(
Nearly everyone is in.
Dunno why I bothered, it's quietly morphed into Just Another Day.
One guy at my work got knocked off his bike by a car. He's okay but I don't reckon he'll cycle home.
Yes
Someone's just told us the weather forecast says this is 'the lull before the storm' and it's going to snow loads in about 3 hours.
I am at work.
But in my living room.
Does that count?
No
I WANT TO GO HOME
and play in the snow.
can you help me solve a potential dilemma please? i've been offered a cab to liverpool street. should i take it and risk going at 5mph across london or walk to notting hill in the snow (which i liked this morning) and get the central line?
I've just been told
that because it's my turn to do phone cover in the evening for our department, I have to stay until 5.15 while everyone else in the building goes at 4 (except the caretaker and one person in each of the other 3 departments). What's the point keeping the office open for 4 people? The schools are all closing early, nobody is going to phone!! >:(
Everyone's gone.
I'm the only one left, getting a lift at 5 and need to put some things on.
'Go home when you want' said the boss.
I are boss now.
Powerful.
