surrounded by angry geordies who still haven't given up their indignation that we're not the team we were in the mid 90s
i probably own one too many items of clothing from H&M for some of these pubs
i'll be beat up for being gay and not buying into the toon delusion
05-07 home strip
if teams like Boro continue to be somehow worse than us
just don't find it interesting, but, lived in the same suburb of newcastle as my current london flatmate for 12 years, so when he says "we're going to the pub tomorrow to watch Newcastle Sunderland, and you're not getting out of it", feel weird obligation, not just to keep friend company, but out of some weird pride. not accustomed to it, as a non-football lover, seems to take something as deep as newcastle-sunderland to bring out anything. quite sad to see newcastle sucking though. i remember the good old days (less fights in the city), and everyone in school thinking newcastle selling andy cole was more important in that period than being early-teen depressives and fauning over kurt cobain. tomorrow might be fun.
