I really love American Splendor and X-Men 2.
but i also have a soft spot for spiderman
I liked Ghost World too.
In fact, I fucking love Spider-Man.
and The Road to Perdition
Watchmen will hopefully be at the top of that list come March (hope hope)
looks like it might end up being too glossy and have had a lot/most of it's subtleties removed to sell it to people used to more conventional superhero cinema
I think the characters and plot are strong enough to withstand some hollywood interference though. It will still guff me off no end if they do. Also, I hope this new ending doesn't suck too much. Hmmm, we shall see.
if it's half the movie 300 was it'll be an all gloss content vacuum
the think people are forgetting is that it will never replace the comic book - unlike a novel adaptation the comic book already gave us how the characters are to look... so the movie is only trying to make them a film, nothing more.
i am optimistic. 300 was really quite a good version of the graphic novel.
300 I mean - and don't go thinking that the MEGA HYPE of watchmen won't have people thinking that that is what the mini-series was about. look at what happened with the League and V. although I'm sure watchmen won't be as bad as the League movie was
Snyder is talking the talk and the 300 comic was pretty basic content to begin with.
Having said that, I'm a little worried about his slo-mo penchant and Rorschach's voice.
Sin City though caught the style perfectly.
